Did you happen to buy a copy any time or you have just seen it in library or friend's place. What is the name and how many pages it had? The New York Times published in 1965 which weighed 7.5 lbs, had had 946 pages. In Bangalore, India, the Deccan Herald is the popular local daily contains 36 pages maximum.

Newspapers with so many pages mostly contains junk. But yeah newspapers sometimes have lots of pages. Must cost a lot too. But I have never seen a newspaper having 946 pages. The most I got was Times of India having about 30 or more pages. But all of them was concrete news.

I fully agree with your views. My son gets TOI at school at a subsidised price and as you said it has solid content. I saw in Auckland, New Zealand, a man buys a paper, reads for 2 minutes, throws the paper in the roadside dustbin.

In India no newspaper ever crosses 50 pages or more (with exception when they celebrate a big event once a year). The Times of London and The New York Times are supposed to be the newspapers with largest number of pages.
