I think it depends one what you are watching. I think the news on the major networks such as, NBC,CBS,ABC,FOX, or CNN are very reliable. CNN is my favorite. I find them to be very reliable and neutral.

The news appears to have an agenda no matter how they try to present themselves as neutral. Editing removes so much information that it is hard to get a clear picture of the events as they occur. They now compete with the net. We share information so freely that we can counter the news as it is presented, since we can hear from a real person near the scene. Only colored by their perception.

Not at all, it shows allways the part of the truth which draws the people attention. I have a discussion too, about it: And I have friends from Philippines, and one of them said that the terrorism in the philippines we hear in the news so many times, only the part of the islands. And you know I was sure in it, when I listened to the news, that it doesn't say all the realness. But the most people do not have friends in the Philippines from who they could know the truth... The media directs the people, or most of the people who are dumb enough to believe everything which they hear in the media.

I think that the media tells us only what they think will draw the viewers, listeners, or readers and tries to keep us there with "half-truths" and only the most sensational stories. I also think that there is a big difference between how the news is reported on various cable news channels. CNN leans towards the left, whereas FOX news leans towards the right; the news is presented differently on both channels. Sometimes there is so much discrepancy that you don't even recognize the story as the same! These days you really do have to get the news from a variety of sources and hope that you can come up with the facts.

I dont think that the news are neutral. What you listen depends on the country that you are living and the chanel that you are listening to. Everybody tells the news by the way that he believes them.
