Ok so no bolts and when I ask him where he has left them, he says, they are still in the Bedroom at Home. Ok nothing can be done apart from another Cup of Tea, as I have no coffee and only one Cup, the Box with all the other Cups and Coffee are one of the Boxes that would not fit in. The Girls are unloading the Van and having a great Time, I have given my Son another Tablet and he seems to feel a bit better. He seems to think when he wants to keep the Girls quiet and occupied he will get them to move Furniture, they both tell him to get lost, lol. I see my Son is picking up a bit,as he is whinding the Girls up. Ok everything in, apart from Settee, to heavy and bulky for the Girls. My Son says give me a few Minutes. It is 8.30 and I am still waiting for my Friends to arrive, I try to ring them but can't get hold of them, I hope they are ok. My Son and his Fiancee go out to get the Settee, my Daughter has fallen asleep, which does not suprise me, the poor Kid had been working Nights the Night before and she had been awake 24 hours, poor Girl, she did great. I hear my Son and his Fiancee arguing, great here we go, loose temper time. I go out and I have to laugh, I know I shouldn't but it was funny, my Son is telling her to push and she is shouting she can't push more as it stuck. And there she is with her full Body Weight against the Settee and my Son is just standing there looking at her puzzled, why, well like me she is only small, petite and not a lot of Strength and he is trying to figure out what she is doing. When I start laughing, she looks around, notices Son is only looking at her, storms of and tells him to do it himself. Son asks her what she was trying to do, her Sarcastic reply- I was going to bl...y sleep, what do you think I was doing. Ok Settee out the Van, but.............. It doesn't FIT THROUGH THE BACK DOOR, I give up. I go in the Living room,as not to scream and then Miracle, my lovely Friends arrive just as Son is checking if it will go through the Front Door. Son's Fiancee is relieved from the Torture lol and Son and Friend get the Settee in through the front Door. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am in. Then She's Partner puts Washing machine in while we sit and chat. My Son looks a bit better and he says they better set of as he is worried that the Van might not make it. I tell them to stop every Hour and to ring me, then the Tears fall, even my Boy had tears in his eyes when he gives me a big Hug. They leave, Daughter is still asleep, she is stopping till Sunday, then I will be taking her back and squeeze everything in my Car that was left behind. I was so grateful that lovely She and her Partner where still with me and stopped for a while. We sit and chat. Son and Fiancee ring me every hour like promised and then finally at 3 am I get the Call "Mum, we are Home Safe." Now I can go to sleep in Peace. So there you go everyone thats it My poor Dog did not travel to well, the trip back up North was easier I knew where I was going. When I left on Monday with the Car full up, my Girl cried really hard and I cried, I nearly moved everything back up there, lol. Now I think everyone is getting used to it. I love my new Place and the Air down here is great for me Thank you everyone for your Love, Support and thoughts for me and my Children, Thank you She and Partner for all the help and Friendship, for physically being here with me and helping through the hard bit, saying bye to my Boy. It is hard realising your Kids have grown up, it really is. THANK YOU

Well - in part 2, someone mentioned the idea of just putting the mattress on the floor. Look at it on the bright side. If you had the bed fully assembled, & put the mattress on it, & you don't watch out for the edge of the bed while sleeping, the floor won't be as much of a rude awakening. Whatever did happen to the screws Misplaced? Or just that no one wanted to be bothered driving back to go get 'em?

Krazy I moved 3 1/2 hours away from my old Home, so I do not think any of us was going to drive back after just being on the road 5 hours just for the Bolts, I got them when I took my Daughter back at the weekend, lol.

Well - being that you did finally get those bolts & screws, it's now time for a new one called, "Settling in" where you need something & forgot where you packed it or something like that, or maybe your adventures in unpacking.

It should be called The Amazing Move. How about getting it published in a magazine/newspaper and earn some thing out of it? lol. The short walks might do you good. :) Get well soon. Our children have to grow up and have their own space and it is tough on us parents. Hugs.

I am glad your move went well for you. Your son made it home safe and I am assuming your daughter did to when she left.I see this was started 2 weeks ago,how are you and your children coping now. I can imagine how that was when saying goodbye.I know you probably moved for the best. How do you like your new environment??

I love living here and I love the Flat. We have got used to it now, I do still miss them but I would not leave here now. I love the Area. We talk on the Phone everyday and they know I am here if they need me. My Daughter still gets upset at times but she is getting better. She rings me before she goes to work and when she comes home and we chat.

Hoooraaaaaaaaay!!! At last, you made it through. I agree, it's terribly hard to part from your kids, especially when they're quite a distance away but I'm sure it won't be too long before you see them again Gabs, and as you say, you're better off healthwise in your new home, with your lovely friends around you. It surely was so good of them to stay and chat with you whilst you got over your son's leaving and to help you unwind after a frustrating day. Things will improve now from day to day, my friend and I don't think you'll regret moving. Your kids will love to visit you, and you'll be able to look back on that disastrous moving day and laugh about it. Keep smiling, and brightest blessings. :-)

Oh dear Gabs, you could not even have a cup of coffee, I am happy that your son started feeling a lot better, and your poor daughter working so hard without any sleep for 24 hours. I don't blame your son's financee as I would be telling him the same unfortunately, oh dear about this settee not fitting through the door, you poor girl Gabs, having such a dreadful time when trying to move. Boy this new home must be a long way from where you used to live, and I understand that you could not go to sleep until you knew everyone was safely back home. I am very happy that you love your new home. Yes I know how hard it can be when we realize that our children have their own lives and have grown up.

Well, Gabs that is another one to chalk up. You have moved and now you can look forward to different things. Life is a new adventure as you settle in, make new friends and cope with different situations. You will breathe more freely in fresher air and hopefully you will improve and have less pain. My closest family is a four hour drive away, while others are a 15 hour drive or a long flight to the other side of the country, and one is in England. How thankful I am for modern technology which allows us easy and reasonable conversation by phone and contact with email. Once you have everything the way you want it, I know you will enjoy your life there. God bless.

Whew!! Well, at least that's over with now. Thank God for good friends and family to help out. I have a few more years before my kids are old enough to be on their own. When they do move out, I'm sure I will have to have a LOT of Kleenex on hand. lol I hope your little dog is doing better and I'm glad you're home safe and sound.

It's great to know that you finally got all your stuff. It's hard when you and your children live in different places. But it's a good thing. The move is good for you, and giving your children another step in the growing up process is good.
