Does anyone else have sweaty palms?

I have sweaty palms. They're always sweating, especially when it's cold. It gets really annoying. Like when I'm typing here on mylot. It gets so bad that even my keypads are kinda wet..and those are just from my fingers. My palms are rested on either side of the touch pad. Don't even know what to call that part of the notebook. Now because I have sweaty palms and usually leave my palms there when I'm typing, I'm seeing this weird spots on those parts of the notebook. Like a grey area. I've only had my laptop for a few months, mind you. It's also annoying when I go out with my man and we'd hold hands but it gets sweaty and gross so he lets go of my hand and says "WET" which inturn, leaves me feeling a little rejected. I feel that this is a curse. ugh! Oh..someone also told me that I should get it checked. I've never had sweaty palms until recently and some friends suggested that it might be because of some medical condition. Does anyone know if this is true?

i do, but onyly when i'm feeling nervous, like when i'm on stage, about to perform my piano recital piece. my hands would get all clammy, i'd have to wipe my hands a number of times before i could play.

WOW you can get up there to do Piano recitals while everyone is watching? I remember piano lessons and piano exams. The examinar is always some white old lady who's from UK or something...different woman every year..and they'd sit at the end of the auditorium..and I'd have to go up on stage and play my exam pieces. It was nerve wrecking for the first 3 grades. I was about 8-9 then. And then came grade 4..and there's all those singing..no wait, not singing..u know how she plays a note and u go LAAAA!!! LOL Anyways, I quit after that. Not very musically inclined.

Oh Lord, I know exactly what you mean! It's like trying to wash your controls with your hands haha! I was playing Prince of Persia earlier and had to wipe my hands a number of times. It's so annoying.

Hi hopefoo, I understand it can be a very embarrassing problem. I had a friend who had very sweaty palms and to shake hands with him didn't feel good. I looked up sweaty palms and this is what I found. I'm afraid it is some sort of medical problem and needs to be corrected through minor surgery. http://www.sweaty-palms.com/sweaty_palms.html Hope you get other responses which give remedies for this without any surgery.

I've taken another user's advice. Don't know why I didn't think of it before LOL. I used talc powder on my hands. It feels a lot better now..except for the fact that my keys are all white now. They're black so it's pretty obvious. ugh!

the cause could probably lie in your laptop. i remember before when still had my laptop, the part where the keyboard is usually generates heat. your hands are always there and on top of it, and it feels like you are ironing clothes. and if after typing, you wash your hands, what do you think will happen? my suggestion is place your laptop in a well ventilated area so heat can go through and not in your hands. attaching an external keyboard to your laptop might help also.

No, it doesn't just happen when I'm online. It happens when I'm offline like when I'm holding hands with my bf. It happens when it gets too cold and I cover my hands with the ends of my sleeve.

yes, you are probably right, but the effects of the heat from the laptop keyboard might happen after you have done using the laptop. i don't know the english term for it but i know you are from the philippines and you might understand what 'pasmado' means. it could be the after effects of you using your laptop. well, i sure hope its nothing serious.

I dont have sweaty palms but i have a friend that does and i know it can be pretty irritating especially if it limiting what you enjoy to do. I was surfing the net and have found a site that might have some home remedies suggestion. Why don't you check it out : http://www.oohoi.com/natural%20remedy/home%20remedy/home-remedy-for-sweaty-palms.htm If this link for some reason dont work.. use your slashmysearch.com and search for "alternative medicine to sweaty palms". Another one u should look at is prescription called drysol. Good luck.. and also if you use talc, use one that you would normally use down there.. it last longer :)

i don't have sweaty palms but my boyfriend does and it's okay with me. i just wipe my hands on the sides of my jeans or wherever every once in a while, when we're holding hands. lol. maybe you have what they call hyperhidrosis. i think it can be cured surgically (don't worry, your hands will not be amputated). you can find out more through this site: http://www.sweaty-palms.com/ you should also avoid getting your hands wet after typing for long hours, maybe that would keep your palms from sweating.

oooohh.... which reminds me of my friend. She also has really sweaty palms, as in all the time! When we were at my home doing our group projects in the computer, after she uses the mouse it would be wet and moist.. kinda icky but then I just wipe it off anyway, as in her palms are always sweaty, they say it's because of washing your hands when it's tired... but another than that I don't know any other medical reasons to it...

I also have extremely sweaty palms. They sweat pretty much all the time. Like I'll just set my hands down on a table and have to wipe up the perspiration really quick before I pick them up again. And I definitely know what you're talking about when it comes to computers and the video games that others have mentioned. It's more annoying than anything else. I guess I could get it checked out but it's not a huge deal to me. Me and my friends use this stuff called Certain Dri for our underarms (which are very sweaty too) and it works well there. I'm not sure if you're supposed to use it anywhere else on your body though.

Hi, I too have sweaty palms and worse I have sweaty feet as well. I have a special cloth on my keyboard which I will used to clean my key board after every time I typed. There seem to be no cure other than surgery. So I guess the next best thing is to use a cloth to wipe the sweat off the palms.

I have this college acquaintance who had really sweaty palms. Each time we would do a handshake, he would first wipe off the sweat in his palms in his jeans. I don't maybe it's a condition that could be resolved by medical specialists.

Oh bless you hopefoo. I have no knowledge about this sweaty palms. I, on the other hand have a very dry hands. lol Probably, because I didn't put enough lotion to my hands. Maybe, you could use some powder or talc to minimize the sweat on your palms?

waaa! same here! same here! I have sweaty palms and feet and my boyfriend keeps teasing me for it. He says that it's a communicable disease coz sometimes even his hands are sweaty but though they are usually dry. It's weird coz even if my hands are not sweaty on a certain moment, just thinking about it becoming sweaty makes it actually sweat. yikes! my beau also has this way of making it sweat and he cant restrain himself from laughing whenver he succeeds. ugh, now that it's summer, it's more sweaty than ever. Eeew! But at least my underarms are dry ^__^, i think that's the consolation for me. I don't have body odours unlike others who may have normal palms and feet but obscurely bad odors. hahaha!

I do. When I type, when I drive, even when I simply hold something, my hands get clammy. When I consulted with a doctor before, he asked me if I washed my hand after doing something without relaxing it first. I said yes. Because after staying in front of the computer for several hours, or after driving, I would normally wash my hands. He said this practice is what caused it in my case. He even cautioned me regarding taking a shower after an activity. I ought to relax for at least 20 to 30 minutes before washing. He further clarified that there are those who have this condition of producing excessive amounts of sweat. With my condition, he said I brought this condition upon myself since I somehow abused my hands. He suggested that I practice relaxing for a while before washing my hands. He also gave me this lotion. I went back after a month because the medication worked. I don't get sweaty hands anymore. And now, I avoid washing or even taking a bath immediately after an activity.

you are not alone mah dear. me too got one. no, i mean four - two palms, two feet. sweat just go out of it, even what i do to stop them... the moisture is just sticky and makes me uncomfortable. but tried some talcum powder, and it helped. at least, the moisture was not as much as before. you must try using talcum if it helps. :)
