Popcorn brittle

1 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, 2 tbs. water,1 tbs light corn syrup, 1 qt. popped popcorn, 1/2 cup granola Cut a large sheet of wax paper to fit a cookie sheet. Lighty butter the wax paper. Melt butter in a 3 qt.saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and blend in sugar. Return to low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches a full boil. Stir in water and corn syrup. Continue stirring over low heat until mixture reaches 270F or 132 C on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat. Stir in popcorn and granola. Cool until hardened. Break into large pieces. Make one qt. Variation would be to mix chopped nuts with cereal before sprinkling.

We love the nut brittles and we love popcorn. It makes me want to melt chocolate and drizzle that over top.

Oh my gosh this sound heavenly.I love brittle candy and popcorn. What a combination. Yummy, I wish I could eat this. you are making me so hungry for popcorn.

This is different. My kids will love this stuff. I usually make caramel corn for them during the holidays. This will be a pleasant change. Love the idea of putting granola in with it.

I used to love peanut butter brittle until I developed allergies. Now I can make this and enjoy brittle again. Sounds like you are a great cook. Can I come for supper some night? lol
