everyone wish me luck that i don't cry tomorrow. i'm going to register my daughter for school starting in september. but i'm such a sap and i know the idea of realizing she is leaving soon (well not leaving leaving but you know what i mean) will make me cry, i don't want to look like a fool. did anyone cry when their kids went to their first day of school?

that's too bad you didn't have your husband with you so you could cry on his shoulder. i'm a single mom and told my neighbor who is my best friend that she better take the day off when she first starts school cause i'll need someone to cry to and stop me from going to sit outside the school like a crazy woman. the other day i told her about going to school and usually she's so excited and has been asking to go since she was 2, but she said can you come with me cause i'll really miss you. it was so sweet. didn't make me feel better about sending her though.

Aww.. It will be okay. I was the same way because I was so used to being around my daughter all of the time and loved it. Kindergarten was only like 2 and a half hours though, so it was not too bad.:)

not for her. she's going to be starting in the fall and going all day every day. most schools around here is all day every second day except for the french schools. they do all day every day and that's where she's going.

I did. I also cried during their preschool & kindergarten graduation. I get sad thinking how quickly they grow up.

My children are twelve, eight and seven and I still cry when the first day of school rolls around. They still look so little to me (well except for my twelve year old, but I cried this year because she was entering junior high and that just means she's growing up, lol). I'm a big sap too and I'll probably cry every year until they graduate and then I'll probably cry some more because they're going off to college and starting their own lives. Good luck!!!

I can emphatized with you about that. I think it is called separation anxiety. I first experienced it last year when my youngest attended school from morning 'till late afternoon. My house suddenly felt too quiet, like a tomb. I felt like crying, nervous and agitated thinking will my girls be alright there in school. What if somebody bully them? I'm not used to this kind of thing, so I went ahead and bought a bunny to play with. Every parents goes through this kind of feelings. We can't help it. We love them too much.
