How do you start your day?

I have never been a morning person. It's not that I mind being up early morning, I just hate dragging out of bed. I never want to start my day off facing "tasks" that demand my attention and I don't want anyone talking to me. So each morning I make it a point to wake at least an hour before my husband and take some time just for myself. I make coffee, sit and read or watch the sun come up. It calms my spirit and helps prepare me for my day. What are some of the ways that help you start your day out right?

A very nice thing that really starts my day right is when my husband cuddles me in bed and start planting little kisses and whispers on my ear "wake up little one". It will bolt me up and start my day right happily. Of course a nice cold water or a warm shower also helps a lot to freshen my morning, and a hot cup of tea or coffee afterwards.

Cuddling with the one you love when you wake sounds like a nice way to begin your day. If my husband is slow and easy, leaving off the talk, I enjoy morning cuddling. And, without coffee, to me, there is not morning. =-\

My alert clock bleeps at eight o'clock every morning. (I have an alert clock because I would rather be alerted than alarmed!) I get up and have a shower, make a nice cup of tea or coffee and get to work on my computer.

Oh, alerted rather than alarmed in the the morning, or any time for that matter, sounds like a great idea!

I usually wake up between 8-10 am and the first thing I do is go to the computer. I check my email and my flickr account to see if I have any new comments. I probably sit at the computer for 30 minutes before I get up and start cleaning or getting around.

It's great that you are taking care of business as soon as you're up an at 'em. My computer is usually the fartherest thing from my mind when I first wake up. Give me an hour or so, then I'm good to go. By the way, what is a flickr account?

It all depends upon what day it is. I know on week days I usually will be the one to turn the alarm off. Or I will wake up a few minutes before the alarm goes off.. And I will go & make my other half coffee if it isn't already made. Or I will go & wake up my other half. I usually will help him get a few things ready for work so he is not rushing out the door. I find it helps him to start his day off better by helping him out in the kitchen. Sometimes he will do dishes & then will come cuddle with me for a few minutes before he has to head out the door. We will then cuddle & I will go back to bed after he leaves. As it is to early for me to be up in the morning to stay up the entire day.. So I just go back to bed for at least a few hours.. After I wake up the second time.. I usually will wake up, let my puppy out to the washroom.. I will do the same. I will give her some water & then I will turn to coming on here for a few hours until my other half calls me around lunch time from work. But for the most part I start my days off by doing all of these things each day.. Sometimes I will even start the cleaning around the house that needs to be done.. Whether that be vacuuming, or doing dishes, or dusting, etc.. I like to do things such as this to get it out of my hair.. So I don't have to worry about it later on in the day! On weekends.. If my other half has the weekend off for a change I will prepare breakfast for the two of us. And we will sit down together in the morning eating breakfast & flipping through a few of the things that are on television at the time. I will then usually clean the house & he will help me do so.. Or we will after breakfast decide to watch a movie from our collection or a movie that we had rented.. But hadn't gotten down to watching it yet. I am not all to much of a morning person either quite honestly.. I dislike having to wake up in the morning but sometimes I find waking up early.. Helps enable me to get things done earlier on in the day instead of waiting until later on to get them all done & out of my hair.. Sometimes I feel when I sleep in all to late that I wasted the day away for some reason. I find spending time with my other half before he heads off to work helps to start my day off right. I like being able to say "have a nice day" to him before he heads off to go to work.. I also sometimes find just doing something such as washing my face helps my day start out a lot better. I find as well on weekends when me & my other half sit down to having breakfast together.. That my day turns out starting out right each time.. I love being able to spend time with the people whom I love before I start my daily chores or activities around the house quite honestly. In conclusion.. I sometimes find starting my day off spending time with the people whom I love.. Helps my day to go a lot smoother. I love cuddling with my puppy & my other half each morning before my other half has to leave us for a day to head off to work.. I also find getting the things that need to be done once I wake up.. Helps my day to start out right.. Because it's one less thing that I need to worry about later on in the day. I am not at all a morning person but I find sometimes I have to be whether I like it or not! . . Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

Wow! Thanks for sharing with us. I always try to get up with my husband in the mornings as well although that's not an easy thing since he leaves around 4:30 a.m. and I am not one who can go back to sleep. He travels a lot so sometimes when he leaves it will be a couple of days before I see him again so it's worth the sacrifice to me.

The alarm clock goes off at 7:00am for my hubby to get up and get ready for work. He leaves for work abotu 7:30am. I climb out of the bed at about 8:00am and fix the baby a bottle and put breakfast on the table for the other two kids. then i go into their rooms, sometimes they are playing and other times they are still asleep. If they are awake then i bring all of them into the dinning room for breakfast. and i do this every single morning.
