I always wanted to ask about how one measures his/her success in life.I have asked this to my friend and MONEY is what usually comes up. does this prove that we now live in a world that is totally materialistic? I like money to the extend that it does make things easier however i wouldn't say i LOVE it. whats your side in this?

Hello Coolazice, Money and materialistic wealth does nothing to bring happiness to it's owners. I personally measure my success in life by my relationship with my God and with those I come in contact with. My friends, family, and people in general are important to me, more then money or material wealth. Yes, it is true money is for a purpose and it does make life easier, but it does not truly bring happiness. Many wealthy people have killed themselves due to lack of love and happiness. Yes, love and happiness that is lasting can not be bought with money. It can make you happy for the moment but when that moment passes, it is back to reality. The love of family, friends and others, is what makes a life successful and no amount of money can buy that! Take care, Jadona2006

I would say the way to measure success is happiness, honest happiness. We don't have a gorgeous house or fancy cars or lots of toys, but we have enough to be comfortable, and we are happy! I think we are very successful.
