How do you get blood out of white or colored clothes?

I am having the hardest time getting blood out of a couple of shirts that my kids were wearing one day when they decided to get into a fight with a few neighborhod kids. I have tried everything, and I have not dried them, because I heard that if you fry them in the dryer you will never get it out. Is that true? Do you know how to get blood out of your clothes? Any advice from old wives tales?

I immediately rinse my clothing in cold water then I take some soap and hand wash them in cold water until the blood comes out. If there is still a stain I use "Shout" gel and leave it for an entire day so that the concentrated gel can penetrate. Then I laundry my clothing in the washing machine. It always seems to work for me.

Quite the little bruisers you have there, huh? lol I heard that if you soak it in peroxide it will get it out, but I haven't tried it myself. Good Luck :-)
