Did you have a sock monkey as a kid?

Sock Monkey on Vacation - This is a sock monkey, found on Flickr, on his vacation! Or at least that's my take on it!

I didn't have a sock monkey as a kid, but I have one now. I love monkies and collect all kinds of monkies.

Very cool! I love monkeys too, but I think it's because my husband hates them! lol, I don't know if there's really a connection, but it's funny none-the-less.

Yes, I had a sock monkey as a kid. I am not sure what happened to it. I moved out of state when I was 10 and I think it disappeared at that time. I didn't miss it then but it would be cool to have one now. My wife made one for my kids but I don't know where that one is either. My kids are adults now.

I did-- I still do.. well not technically seeing that my daughter has it. My grandmother made each grand daughter a set os sock monkeys when we were younger. A boy and a girl.. My grandma and gramps had 16 grandchildren so we always got handmade gifts from them- I so looked forward to holidays and birthdays just to see what new they made. My daughter now has my 2 sock monkeys- they are sitting on her bed as they did mine growing up. My mom also made my daughter one also when she was younger. I'm sure I will make them for my grandchildren. My grandparents also made Raggedy Anne & Andy dolls, quilts, quilt rack, writing desk, and several wall hangings. My grandparents are no longer with us-- but each of the above item is! Plus tons of memories!

My grandmother actually made me a sock monkey family. At first there were three and then she added a baby monkey when my brother was born. I actually sitll have the two that survived him!
