Waiting impatiently for my brokerage account to be set up!

I have been messing around with the stock market awhile, and I have decided to start playing around with it. I picked a stock and did my research and felt it was a good pick. So I went to sign up for a brokerage account about a week ago. I still haven't been able to use it! First, you have an application then you have to verify your bank account, just like PayPal. Meanwhile, the stock I wanted to invest in has gone up almost 50% in less then a week! I lost about $2500 just waiting! I am not happy, but I am still going to invest and be happy. I just needed to vent a little bit, as I am mad the process takes so stinkin long! Thanks for listening to me :D

It sounds like you might need to find another alternative to setting up an account, maybe find another site, or company to work with. Or venting is a good thing, it lets you allow yourself to feel the frustration and then vent it and move on, instead of keeping it inside so that small annoyances in other areas of your life don't become more annoying due to unvented or buried anger.

Yes, I just really needed to vent. My account is set up and I purchased the stock I wanted to. Right now, it is only up 3.13%, but that is better then nothing :D

Call Scottrade to set up an account. You may have to go to their office to sign up at first, but they only charge $7 for a stock and are very fast at everything you do online with them afterwards. P.S. You haven't "lost" any money yet because you didn't own it yet to begin with. You will "Lose and Gain" (on paper) with any investment you own, so if you can't deal with the fluctuation of it all, you may want to find something else to invest in. L

This is who I am waiting for to set all my information up. I got my account verified, I just need to wait now for my funds to show up in the account. I can deal with the flucation, I am just upset at the fact that the stock that I want to buy is increasing fast and I didn't have the chance to buy it like I want to. I have other investments, and this is more of a hobby for me to do. I am just going to be doing some daytrading, and making a little bit here and there. Whatever I gain, I keep 50% and put it in my mutual fund and keep on reinvesting the rest. That way, the most I will ever lose is my initial investment while I am saving another part of my investment for the long-term. :D

OH, what a shame this happened, worst of all the stock increasing that much before you could purchase. I never knew you had to go through all of this before investing in stocks.

I thought maybe a day to set it all up and transfer the money in but that was it. If I would have known this, I would have done it a long time ago. Oh well, you live and you learn, right? I just keep my head up and hope that the stock keeps rising :D
