You can try this methods: 1. The first and often most effective relief menstrual cramps is an OTC pain reliever, something containing aspirin or ibuprofen. There are also OTC pain relievers, such as Pamprin or Midol, designed specifically for menstrual cramps. Take only the recommended dosage, though; taking more can weaken the effect and eventually cause damage to your stomach lining or liver. 2. Use applied heat to relieve the menstrual cramping. Apply the heat directly to the area of your body most affected by the cramps (usually the abdomen or lower back). Some options include a heating pad, a warm wet towel, or a long hot bath. 3. Drink lots of water and herbal tea to get rid of cramps. Chances are you’ll feel bloated already, but drinking a cup of hot chamomile, mint, or gingerroot tea can relieve some menstrual cramp pain. I've tried all of this and this helps alot.

I have found a lot of times exercise helps to get rid of them. It doesn't have to be any major exercise, sometimes just a walk will help to ease them off. If this fails, I take a nice long soak in a hot tub. If that fails, then I'm going searching in my medecine cabinet for something, lol.
