It's because too many people on here don't care about actually saying anything worth reading and just want to make quick money by doing nothing. They ignore anything that will make them think, because they don't want to think! Work for money! Ha! Seriously, it says a lot about people. This whole site is an amazing study in social relevance. I could write pages of pages of commentary about what Mylot says about the human mind and presentation in anonymous public.

I think a lot of people don't want to answer political questions for fear of getting negative responses. Plus I believe there are a lot of us who don't really follow politics so we can't really answer with just I don't know. Some topics are more interesting to some than others.

My Man How right U are. This is same problem That I 'm facing , "Birds of the same feather !".This really sums up that there is a dearth of good intelligent people or may be they are here to while their time I suppose. But don't loose heart my friend as it takes all kinda people to make this world Right ? So there might be people just waiting perhaps to hit on to your discussions.

That does happen, yes. I think that it's because not all of us have anything particular to say on political subjects - I know that I feel stumped about what to say about such matters. Most people have some kind of thoughts or opinions on subjects less weighty than those. I'm sorry that you don't get many replies to some of your best topics :/ I admit I am one of those who simply cannot figure out what to say on certain topics, even current affairs ones - not just political ones - and I also like to avoid any subjects that I feel might be taken as controversial by other members of the site, anyway, as I would really not like to get anyone upset with me. I know that you wouldn't be - I trust you ^_^ ^_^ But some people here, once they get mad at you, sigh.. it just seems to be more trouble than it's worth, it's so much easier to stay away from the controversy in the first place..

I get it as well sometimes. Some posts I cannot relate to and some I can. I think that is what happens with alot of mine also. Or sometimes we get in such a rush to read others post, I think. I am so far behind on responding to posts it isn't funny. I am trying to get caught up a little bit on them each day now. I have several to go through. Hopefully things will pick up for you soon.

I think its because people don't like to express their veiws as this makes people rate them negatively if they don't agree with them and then their star number goes down and they get paid less. I think that rating people shouldn't be allowed as its unfair to people who are having discussions about things that matter rather than just talking about trivia.

i would never negative rate someone with different poiint of view..that's why this is discussion corner..to discus isn't it? and especially i thank those with different opinions and always rate them positive as it is good to get different ideas..as long as people are not being rude and abusive thanks..for all this feedback..lol

...."fringe of absurdity" - I like that! Verty funny! I think that's why they seem to get noticed more, cause people like to laugh? even, be entertained? Of which I am guilty, yes.

Me too! I think that people may be apprehensive about posting on serious topics as these are the ones we are most likely to disagree about and hence our ratings may be lowered. Also, some of the absurd or less serious posts are actually quite fun! Still, don't stop posting serious stuff, some people are interested.

that happens all the time. mylot is a hit or miss place. you find that there are some people who love a thought provoking topic and others who just want to answer topics about what they had for dinner. love to reply to topics that make me feel and think. so please keep it up

Yes! I've noticed this as well. I refuse to post something ONLY to make money. I want to post things that are of interest to me, and something that I actually care about the responses I get. If people bite and post a comment, great! If not, while- at least I've vented.

I found that as well but with time they will get the right poeple to respond. APparantly it can take a good 48 hours for a post to take off because it need the right kind of exposure. I will go and look for this amazing post your referring to.

unfortunately, most people want to do as little work and think as little as possible. A lot of people are interested in dumb things. For example, watching MTV. Why would you want to sit around and watch that stuff for hours? They don't even play music. Ever notice how interested people are in other peoples lives? If I see one of your deep questions, I will try to respond...

Probably because most people have an entrenched position when it comes to politics or religion and they don't want to get involved in trench warfare :)

Maybe it's because they cannot relate to the topic on hand. It may be too deep for them to discuss. Not like everyday things that are trivial and easily they can realte to your post or discussion.

It happens for the same reason that soaps get more viewers than news and tabloids sell more than serious mags. More people are interested in things that are 'on the frings of absurdity'.

The same thing with me.I have posted a couple of topics related to current affairs and technical stuff , but got no responses in return.I think people here enjoy absurdity, not to involve much brain and just freak as much as they can..
