it may be entirely fiction or an account of someone's real life experience, or a mix of both, or even coming off a comic book, which movie about the supernatural have you seen would you recommend? i just saw on cable again the movie "Constantine." it's a comic book story about a man whose penance for trying to commit suicide at a young age is to act as a guardian of the gates separating the demons from the realm between heaven and hell, which is where we are. i like that movie starring keanu reeves. also, the "Sixth Sense" is a movie about the supernatural. it deals on living souls who walk among the living unknowing that their physical self had died already, and this kid who "can see dead people." "Underworld" oh yeah..walking amongst us are two warring breeds, the werewolves and the vampires, disguised as normal people. each trying to overcome the other in a battle that has been updated with high-powered guns, with the ordinary mortals caught in between. "The Blairwith project" a supposed to be experimental film but has gained commercial exposure. it's documentary presentation of a town known for its rumored ghostly experiences. the fear of the unknown makes the viewers concoct images of ghosts in their heads even as nothing hideous is shown on screen.. how about adding to this list..

Underworld is pretty good, as is Van Helsing if you like the classic horrow genre. My favourite movie in this category is, however, The Crow. A classic tale of murder and retribution, love and revenge. Brandon Lee's last movie which, in my opinion, was a tragic accident in itself.

What did you think of The Crow's sequels if you don't mind my asking? In my opinion they should have stopped with the one, which yes it a classic in and of itself. Cheers!

Constantine was an excellent film and I would recommend it to others. A couple of others I've really enjoyed are: The Changeling: George C. Scott's character loses his wife and child at the beginning of the movie and he moves. Into a house with a history of not wanting people there or maybe the entity does want someone to listen for once. Great ghost story that will send chills down you. The Prophecy: Deals with a war between the angels and one man on earth caught in-between. Christopher Walkin and Elias Koteas (Spelling here) star in it. Warlock: Funny/scary movie about a Warlock and a witch hunter who are transported from the 1700's to modern day and the chase continues. The First Power: Lou Diamond Phillips stars in this movie as a cop who has a Satantic seriel killer on his hands. He thinks he stopped him but Satan gives the killer the first power. Very good movie that keeps you going from beginning to end. Those are 4 I have watched many times and enjoyed each and every time.

I would recomment "The Lady in the Water". It's a good movie with a good story and it's about supernatural, out of this world creatures. If you want something scary, you can try "The Others". It has a very interesting twist in the end. Scary and it'll make you think.

yeah, i agree.. m. night shyamalan is a supernatural guy himself. i saw a documentary about him where it showed that in on-site shoots, there is always a crow nearby. then when a picture of him was taken by a reporter doing the story, m. night's face came out blurred. his movies are good, and a good break from usual plots in movies- Signs, The Village, Lady in the Water, Sixth Sense.. thanks for reminding me...

Hmmm...The Ring comes to mind as one of the few supernatural movies that actually scared me. Granted I was a bit younger when it came out, but I remember being genuinely scared while watching that movie. Not sure if aliens count as supernatural or not, but I would also recommend Signs. I really enjoyed that movie as well. It wasn't so much a scary movie though.

Personally, I believed 'Signs', starring Mel Gibson (who was surprisingly good) and Joaquin Phoenix was a brilliant supernatural movie. The imagery was beautiful, there were loads of hidden meanings and items throughout the movie (did anyone else spot crucifixes throughout it?) and it was well-scripted. I also enjoyed 'The Sixth Sense', and 'The X-Files Movie'.
