I know! I hate History. There's this one time, whenever I open my History book I'll shout really loud. My brother stared at me while doing that. I told him in the movies when the person is being tortured they yell. So that's why I yell, the reason is studying History is a torture. I have always asked myself why do I have to study this subject. I want to pursue a career in engineering and I don't think my exams and interviews as an engineer will include History questions. Math is totally better than History. History requires to memorize names, dates, places.

When I was in school I hads the same feeling about history.. it all changed when I got a new professor and he tried to show us history from other points of view.. not names, dates and places.. but historical movies.. comparisons between different societies in different part of teh world but in the same timeline.. Now History channel is one of my favorite channels on satellite :) I have no memory for names or dates.. but history can be fun :)

i do history at GCSE's and i think it is great to learn about how the world has evolved and what has happened in the past, and how the past has changed our livves. however yes it can also be boring doing the same thing more than once, and also can be boring going over things you dont particulary like. like for me i prefer talking about the first world war, and am not a fan of the russian revolution

I think we can learn so much from our history. We can see the good things they did and the problems that they had and learn from them and find out the best way to live our own lives. I agree that it isn't always taught in the most interesting way, but if you put yourself into the lives of the people you are studying and think about what it might have been like if you had lived then it puts a whole different perspective on the topic.

History is the only link you have between where you came from and who you are today. It's extremely important, more vital to who you are than you realize. But yes, it can be quite boring.
