Editing options

I having only been a member for a short time but I have noticed that I am not able to edit my postings. I think I should be able to go back and edit my postings to correct spelling mistakes and to reword things for better clarity of the discussion. What do you think? Should we have this capability or not? And Why do you feel that way?

It would be nice to be able to edit a discussion after you've posted it. I've tried to train myself to use the "preview response" and read it over again before I post. The times I don't use that function, that's when I find mistakes. I think we should have the option to edit it for a couple of minutes after posting. Perhaps that's too hard to control. :)

Of course this is a very useful function for us. I am sure that all of us will make mistakes in our posts. It is quite upset that if you find some mistakes in your post after posting, you can no longer edit it or delete it. By the way, should mylot add a delete function as well? So that we can delete our own post? What do others think?

It would be a useful feature. Even if you preview your response you can still miss something or need to add something.

Yes editing would be useful, unfortunately mylot doesn't have this option, I guess they make every post final to avoid some kinds of abuse and because we are paid for every post after it gets evaluated by their algorithm, editing will complicate the system.. maybe at least they should allow us to delete discussions that we start if it still has no responses yet..

It would be nice but probablyis not possible. How can you edit at all without also being able to alter the content? If there were a way to edit after posting, it could only be done prior to the first response since Mylot cannot allow the content of the posting to be changed after there is a response. The amount of time between the posting and the first response varies but can be as little as a few seconds and that doesn't allow much of a window to edit. I think we just all have to work with what we now have and learn to proof our stuff more carefully.

I know. The editing is also my problem. I created a discussion that I want to edit mainly because I was not in my normal mind when I was making it so I would like to arrange my sentences so people can understand it better and they will reply to it. I have to agree with you mylot should do something about editing your discussions.

This has been one of my biggest problems with MyLot. Not only should they have a edit feature, they should have a delete feature. You can correct your mistakes in the preview mode, but it's not the same as having a edit function. Lloyd

Unfortunately, after you have posted, that's it. But you can use the view post function before you post. I agree that such a function would have certain benefits, as well as a spell checker. Good luck, enjoy mylot!

I think we should be able to go back and edit our discussions. My reason for this is because if you make a spelling mistake in the title you can't go back and change it but it makes people not want to go and read the rest of your discussion.

I think that's a great idea, I know that while your answering you often get caught up in the moment and rush your words down, and naturally you miss things, like words, and spelling
