How do you know you are in the right religion?

I wanted to start this discussion because I am Christian and I know that my religion is true because I know that I know God personally. I can feel him when I pray and he answers the questions I ask him. I don't know how I've ever lived without that feeling, but I know that some people have other religions and they probably feel just as strongly as I do. So my question is..... How do you know your religion is true.

You are blessed that u born in a christian family and its your believe that is going to save you, why to bother about any other religion when we have all the best thing, let them believe in them, our duty is to show the right path and its upto them to take the decession Do your Job, you will be rewarded in Heaven, help others so that they can also get a place in Heaven.

It is this sort of thinking which will turn a person away from any religion. THat you feel you have the best thing is one thing, and it is a very fine thing indeed. That you believe that the path which is right for you is also the one which will fit everyone. Religion and spirituality are certainly not all one size fits all. This is a very blind way of seeing things. I think that my house is the most beautiful thing in the world, but there are also other people who feel this way about their own homes, too. What bothers me the most is that you posted that it is your "job" to lead others to Christ. Okay, so this is only half right. It is your duty, not your job. God does not pay people for their works. Only for their faith are they rewarded. A person can lead a million people to Christ, seeking only recognition here in this life, never minding their just reward in the end, which, if they are doing as did the Pharisees, their just reward is anything but passage into Paradise. It is by faith, not by works which we are granted passage into the Holy Kingdom of God.

I was raised Roman Catholic and never bonded with the church or believed in the stories of Christianity. Many years of soul-searching have led me to be Atheist and I feel very much at peace without religion in my life. Now with that said, if I decided to go with a religion sometime in the future I would choose Buddhism as I feel it is a very beautiful and peaceful religion. It also fits many of the feelings I had when I was transitioning from Christianity to Agnosticism to Atheism. I just never felt anything like you mentioned so I turned to science and my gut feeling for answers. I'm not saying I'm right and theists are wrong (because I so don't think like that but many people assume so just because I'm Atheist) but I do feel at peace finally after so many years of searching.

What you are experiencing my friend is not "religion". It is spirituality. How refreshing it is that you would be able to tell people that the religion you follow is in line with the "vibe" you have always had with Akua. (Don't trip- it's just the Hawaiian translation of the English word for "God") . I was raised to follow the path of Christianity. Now, please, don't get me wrong- it is not now nor has it been my intention to bad-mouth religious people. Religious people often times confuse their deep spirituality for a religious belief. What you have with Akua, my friend, is something that is deep and personal and absolutely real. This is what I believe many true believers in any religion experience. I do not follow a particular religion. My path is spiritual and I follow God, the Universal Law of Unconditional Love for all humanity, respect for every living thing, the Universal Law of Attraction, and the Cosmic Wisdom possessed and passed down through the generations of Hawaiians who came before me. You have found something very special, friend, and it is the same for many people around the world. It is not that yours is better than mine, or that my way is the best way. No one has the right to tell anyone else that the way they believe and bond with Akua is right or wrong. I know my religion is "right" because it is the spiritual connection which I have always had with Akua, with Nature, with the divine nature of my soul which tells me that I am fine and good with who I am. That anyone believes is grand and gorgeous in and of itself!

it actually is faith that decides the truthfulness of your religion. with whole-heartedly belief in him, you'll just know your in the right place - be it Christian, Moslem or any other religions our world have. You just have to live what you belief in. ^_^

I think you would know if you're in the right religion when you don't really question it as much as you would question your other/previous religion. You would feel that you have finally found a sense of 'home'. You now go by faith, and not try to dig some hard evidence or truths about how your religion came about and how it's going to be. Another thing is that you gladly submit yourself (without restriction) to what the religion wants you to do or accomplish.

If you really want to know if you are in line with "Jehovah" God! You will spend all your time investigating his word the BIBLE. For if you do, then you understand the word "disparaging". And if you understand that word than you understand our comment. For all things outside of Christ tends to "belittle" so if you must be subject to a master it makes since to belittled by Jesus Christ "only". For he leads you into his kingdom, his kingdom....

Every religion has the different teaching methods. It is like learning to take a short path or long path to reach our goal. People have the same path to the heaven, and it is uneasy for normal people to go up there. They have to do good and make a lot of donation. You pray and he answers the questions you asked, it is really perfect, I haven’t reached that level yet. I only meditate and I will know in my dream clearly if I need. Some time I felt that I was in the dark in my dream, it may be the devil covering. It may be not my time to reach that rank as you do.

You are definitely in the right religion if your religion teaches you to do good things and if it inspires you in the right way.It does'nt matter if you face problems cuz there's always a silver line around a cloud.Hope this helped.

no religion is ever true. your relationship with God is. no matter how great your religion is if you do just what sinners do it cannot save you. i am not that religiously involved with my own religion and i guess none should be. why? if your religion fails...you fail with it, too. i think having a personal connection with God is the best religion. the religion we are with on sundays are for fellowship of christians.

For me, religion is my own personal relationship with God. I do not belong to a church at this time. I do not feel the need, because to me religion is not necessarily a "group". I feel that it has to be your own individual relationship with God. By praying and reading the Bible, and spending individual time with God, and focusing on this truths, then to me, I am in the right religion.

Imagine if in a bizarre twist of fate, you were taken from your mother at birth and adopted into a family in another country of a different Faith? Do you think if you were raised in another religion you would feel the same sense of "true" in your heart or would something be missing that would eventually lead you to where you are now in reality?

Hellow sir.. Even Iam a christian. And i love being one.. But Iam really confused..Something that has been bothering me for quite some time..! According to christianity , We believe in the resurrection of christ and on living this worldly lifes according to his preachings we enter heaven after life and live there for Eternity.. But what about all those great admired personalities in the world history who lived a life for humanity and did no sins.. They didn have the luck to hear the gospel of christ or read bout him.. Where will they end up..?

When you choose the religion, and after studying it, no wuestions remain. However I wont go as far as call my religion true, as every religion has its values and morals, and has many lessons it can teach to people of other religions.

Every religion is true.there is no question of finding out and testing its truth. Every religion was founded with noble thoughts and aim to achieve purity to reach god. all religion lead to the same almighty.Only we refer him by different names like- god, jesus, allah, khuda, bhagwaan, buddha, mahavira and many many other names. God is one.

Here,I wanted to last this nonsense discussion because I'm a true ATHEIST and I know that I'm on the right way.I know the GOD,neither personally nor professionally.I can't feel Him when I abuse Him.I often abuse him as he doesn't answer a single question of mine.I don't know what happened if he was living in the real wold.I know, most of the people in this worls are silly n stupid and believe in the existence of the SuperNaturalPowers and waste a lot of time discussing some SuperSillyDiscussion like this and probably don't think as freely as they should. After all,my advice is: "WHY TO SEARCH THOSE THINGS WHICH DO'T EXIST" Stop it now................................................

I DO NOT know whether my religion is right or true, it doesn't matter much to me. For all I know, I'm holding on to the right person here, and that person is JESUS. Religion doesn't save me, but Jesus does. Most religions are telling people to do good, I can do that without Jesus, too. But JESUS is special, He is GOD. I know it, because HE spoke to me personally, and through reading of the scriptures from some other people's testimony as well. The same GOD who did the same thing to different people, is real. As simple as that.

Everybody follows the spiritual path he/she needs. People usually convert to another religion when notices that his/her first religion didn't tell him/her anything anymore. Divinity can express Him/Herself in many ways, there are many pathes to come to this Great Mistery, so I think that everybody deserves to follow the religion he/she wants without judging anything.
