Are non-handicap people allowed to use the handicap toilets?

I have seen a man who is wheel-chaired bound scolding another young man for using the handicap toilet, apparently when it was empty and there wasnt any handicap people ard. Do u think it is fair for the non-handicap guy to be scolded? My view is that since no one is using the toilet at the moment, anyone is allowed to use it. It is only wrong, for instance others try to snatch the cubicle from the handicapped, who is ard. What do u think?

I think it's wrong for a normal person to use the handicapped toilet. There's always toilet for the non-handicapped, don't see the reason why they need to fight with the handicapped. We have to understand that handicapped are not agile and normally only 1 cubicle is alocated for them, imagine what happens when they are very urgent and non-handicapped are already so used to use the handicapped toilet. Thus, handicapped toilet should be always kept for the handicapped only.

Yes, the handicap definitely should be granted priority. But what happens if you have an empty handicapped toilet right beside one that is full of people? Isn't it better to utilise this spare capacity, since the toilet would have been empty otherwise anyway?

So, you're saying that someone who ISN'T handicapped doesn't have the right to go to the bathroom if they are "urgent" and all the other stalls are occupied? That's not right either. They can wait, just like everyone does if the stalls are full. Why do they need a personal gold-plated toilet that no one else is supposed to use just because they're in a wheelchair.

Well, I think it would only be reasonable for non-handicapped people to use the toilet only if they are very sure that nobody else is around. If the toilet is going to be empty anyway, why can't other people be allowed to make use of it?

I think it is rude for anyone to use a handicap toilet that is not handicap. A handicap person does not have a choose of using a different stale. But soemone who isn't handicap can use other stalls that are provided.

Well I've never come across something like that before. I am guilty of using the handicapped stall when the washroom was overcrowded and there was nowhere else to go. I'm not certain what the ettiquette should be on that, particularly if no one with a wheelchair is in the bathroom at the time.

I suppose i should be scolded everytime i use a handicap toilet, not on purpose either. It really depends on the need to go right away and if the other toilets are full, and i'm busting, i'm afraid i go to the handicap toilets. sorry!

in my place there is no toilet for handicap, so there is no problem for us. but that is a pity things. government should provide toilets for handicap. in my opinion there is OK for a non-handicap to use a handicap toilet, as long as there are no other choice and the situation are very urgent! cause it's the matter of urgently need!!
