D. None of the above. I prefer working at home, but since I'm going to college for an accounting degree, I imagine I'll end up working somewhere outside my home office sooner or later just for the insurance benefits, the fat check and time to continue building my traffic empire.

Looks like we are in agreement. I've been self-employed most of my life, and I like being my own CEO and employee.

That really makes me happy to hear a real person's success story. I spent nearly 20 years working and feeling like I was property. I hated feeling owned like that. At least with a degree, I won't feel so owned due to the choices that will open up for me. Congratulations on staying your own boss, Dan :)

I have done most of those jobs. I did not like cutomer service, it was like asking to be verbally abused everyday. I don't mind house keeping, but it doesn't pay much. I didn't like being a cashier, people were not nice, and yelled at me if the prices didn't ring up right. They treated me badly most of the times. Being a manager was ok. People respected me and made it wasy for me to manage them. Shipping and receiving was a busy job. I always got things done though. It made me feel good when I was able to fill requests and make a difference in someone's day by getting their product to them in time. I think I have enjoyed shipping and receiving the most. I can handle that kind of job, and at the end of the day I feel like I worked hard. I hardly ever had a bad day doing that job.

I prefer to working smart rather than working hard. And, working a "job" does not mean working smart for me. So, I prefer working for myself.

Oh I have done a couple of those in my time but none of them suit me anymore. Customer service I never did, but then when I saw how rude some people were, I was always glad of that. Housekeeping, done that and still do sometimes when husband won't do it. LOL Cashier I have been but not all that much fun because if it was one cent out the boss would go ballistic. Shipping or receiving - never did either of them and had no desire to. Manager, well yes I have been there and done that but it also carries a lot of stress with it too. So for me my preference is for my current employment status, i.e. retired. Just because I don't go out to work doesn't mean that I am not active as I have my computer, this forum, crosswords, embroidery, shopping (that part I don't like), housework, travelling to various places in Australia, visiting friends. Oh there are so many things that we do now, and I am not sure how I ever found the time to actually go to work. So I recommend that everyone gives my current position a try, and as soon as they possibly can, because it certainly is a wonderful way to live. :)

Would pick shipping and receiving, then customer service then housekeeping then cashier and lastly manager. As long as the job would keep me busy, that would be the job for me. Nothing worse than sitting or standing and having naught to take care of for that makes for a long day!

I guess I enjoy sitting and working on my computer too much. But, then, that is where most of my income comes from.
