I carry a planner everywhere I go. I cant plan anything without checking my planner first. I dont just use it to plan my day..I have my medical history in it...my family and friends addresses and phone numbers. It really is indespensable. Planners are expensive to purchase and then they never have the exact pages that you need or want. Planners are so easy to make. Yes, you can purchase a cheaper one for about 7 bucks but it has very little in it. You will find that you will use your planner more if is has places for everything available. There are numerous sites online with free downloads of planne pages. My favorites are: http://organizedchristmas.com/printable/showgallery.php/cat/591 http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/CT011814061033.aspx This site has tons of printable pages for your planner. It has the calendar, the phone pages, address pages and more. Planners do not have to cost a fortunate. You can use a 3 ring binder or a zip up notebook or you can even use an old planner..the possibilities are endless. I like a zip up binder to keep those appointment cards and prescriptions from getting lost out but you can purchase a 3 ring flat plastic pencil case to attach in the binder to keep things from falling out. Have fun and make extra for Christmas Gifts. A great addition to this gift is: Notify everyone that they need to bring a sheet of address labels with their addresses on them to the next family gathering. (address labels are free from lots of site. ..including these sites http://www.nfcr.org/Default.aspx?tabid=456 http://www.unitedspinal.org/ there are tons more for free. Just google free address labels. If everyone brings address labels ..and passes them out...the hard part of the address section is completed. Enjoy

Thanks so much for the links. I, too, have to have my planner. I have a smaller one i keep with me all times in my purse and a larger one that sits on my desk. I use the little one for EVERYTHING. Thanks for the links. I may make myself one for next time.

What a great idea! Very true, planners that I have purchased in the past don't have everything in them that I need, so with this I will be able to make my own. Thanks so much!

Well, that beats the heck out of me getting calendars for each of my children each year and writing in all of the "special" dates for them! Thank you so very much ~Donna

Well, aren't you the nifty little organizer - Ok, you can come to my house and get me straightened out. I'm saving all of these ideas to use and share with others. Ioo've already bought a day planner for this year but what a great gift idea for friends. And the address thing is spectacular, our family is spread all over the country and about the only time the majority of us get together is major holidays - Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July. Beyond that someone is always calling my Mom for someone's address - think she's the only one that keeps up with all.
