when do you think a baby is too fat?

That does seem like a lot. However, there is no need for us to overreact, I am sure that the baby's doctor would know for sure, if they are near their correct weight, because they take into consideration height and things like that. I know that there are some kids that are above average, and it does not hurt them at all in the long run. The only negative aspect would be the fear of obesity and early onset diabetes, the one that happens in children when they are young, because of their weight. I am sure they are due for a check up (or shot) soon, so see what the doctor says. Good luck.

The doctor will be able to know the best honey. Maybe the baby will grow out of it, but just check to make sure.

I would say that that is a little heavy, but I guess it all depends too on if he is a big boy. I mean if he is stocky, and taller then most his age. I have a 4 year old son that doctors say is the average weight and height of a 6-7 year old. He is very tall, about that of a 6 year old, and weighs amost 60pounds!! But yet you can see his ribs!!! He is very solid and has very little belly or body fat. So I guess it depends. 8 months is young, but not too young to manage his diet. You can do that at just about any age if they are at a un healthy weight. Too heavy or too skinny. ( my daughter is 9 almost 10, and is over 5ft tall already, and weighs in at 78 pds. She is very tall and very skinny, and eats lots of fatty foods to help maintain her body. Not sugar, but things like whole milk, which she really don't like, and meat ect.)

I think that he will be fine as once he gets more active he will stretch out and grow taller and you will notice that he will slim out the more active he gets. I also have a 5 year old nephew that is also on the heavy side but he is also very tall. We have to remember that ones height is also always a factor1 Good luvk and God Bless you and Yours!!!
