Tags, what do they do?

They help people find your discussions.
Although recently i have been thinking about not adding them as it doesn't seem fair to the user. nearly everyone i've noticed does this but a friend on my list isn't now.
Which makes me think maybe i shouldn't.

Tagging our discussions are fine.
Although for someone else's they might not like someone adding onto them even if they do help. (I've seen it from two sides)

Yeah I hadn't been on the site in a while. Very busy and then I decided to go back and mark the best responses on all my old topics I'd forgotten about.

Mainly tags are used for the search engine purpose, if a member wanna search for some topics these tags helps in getting the desired results, so if we tag meaningfully to our discussions and responses then i am sure your discussion will be getting a lot of responses, and also it helps mylot in keeping things in more organised manner.
