Do you think we all deserve to be marked as best response? What would you feel if you see some of the so-called not-so-intelligent answers marked as best response, would you questions it's integrity? What if we found out that;s there conspiracy here among us members, what would be it's affects on you? Don't you think that mylot should also put some standards in marking up "best responses"? That they should put up atleast three sentences, and that they should atleast have a minimum of 10 responses before awarding it to respondents. Because I've seen others here that just put on the best response mark on them, but not understanding what the message wants to deliver. Any suggestions are more welcome, because this is also for all of us good members that thinks to quitting here in Mylot.. So what do you think?

It's strange that mylot has no guidelines about giving best responses.. they should advice people to wait for a sufficient period and give it to only those who deserve it, sometimes I wish if I can report abuse on someone giving best response to a simple response like "I totally agree and i do the same" when there are many good responses in the discussion.. apparently some people "exchange" best responses and it's not fair and kind of manipulation of the mylot system and should be regarded as an abuse.. I tend to favor my friends sometimes but not on the expense of anyone else, it's only in some discussions where all the responses are more or less similar and it's hard to choose an outstanding response so i choose a good response from one of my friends and mark it as best. but if someone else has submitted a response that stands out from the rest I would never over look it.

Connivance is the word, my friend!;) Especially of those who are "common friends" here, the referrers/referrals conspiracy thing. It sometimes destroys the essence of the good discussion, and stops the flow of discussions afterwards. We should all understand the importance of the discussion, this is what we are all here about. Very good point!;)

I feel that the responses are somethimes given too quickly, we should be able to give two best responses if 2 of them are so you have a hard time deciding which is best. I diagree that there should be a minimum number of responses. If there is a conspiracy it is mean spirited people giving negative ratings (-). Here is a link for more info on best responses: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/766551.aspx

Sorry, but what I mean to say is, that to be marked as best response, the respondent should atleast make their responses clear and well-pointed. Because I see some members here just mark responses without even understanding what the responses were all about. I do agree with what you pointed out at your discussion!;)

You have a point in there. I actually had seen some nonsensical responses to a discussion and it is marked as best when in fact there are far better responses. It is really unfair to those who made an effort to give the most brilliant advice or response.

I think some them do this for something in return, also. I couldn't even imagine myself doing that just to earn something back from them, I'll stick to my principles. Give my best and help others, I think that is the beauty of it all.

I don't think we can completely do away with that. There is a lot of subjectivity because it's the thread starter who gets to choose the best response. Of course, it's more fair if he chooses a good answer and not just any answer, but it pretty much his prerogative on who to choose.

Yes and it sometimes can be unfair for others, those who still want to give their opinions to which they can as their best are sometimes withheld. They sometimes feel that there is no need to converse, because a best response has already been rewarded for just a short span of time..

You're right there. That's why when I start a topic, I don't mark the best response right away. It usually takes me a few more days, when I have a lot of responses already, before I choose one. Unless, a really really good response comes early on.

I think sometimes that people hit the best response by accident and sometimes they are just going by a method they have i dont know but i usually choose one of my friends who have the best response. Sometimes if a response really stands out i will choose it whether they are a friend or not.

Thanks for making it clear for me!;) But I guess sometimes best response should be given to those who really deserves it, and not just by doing it so. I think mylot should take a look on this and make a regulation on marking "best responses", we should give and award it responsiblly..
