why should we take lettuce leaves?

is this bcoz we are generally taking a huge amount of protein? and to compensate that we are intaking some minerals and vitamins.. and bcoz we say that everyone comments to take it after heavy and rich foods.. wat r ur view regarding it?

Iceburg lettuce is particularly just water. Some other varieties do contain more vitamins, so try to use some red leaf or romaine in your salads or sandwiches if you're seeking an extra boost of nutrition.

Lettuce is mostly water. Only reason I can think of to eat a lot of it is that it will fill you up and prevent you from filling up on rich foods. If you eat nothing but lettuce though, expect to be hungry again in an hour. It won't take long for your system to break it down
