Does your dog 'sing'? A Chinese woman claims her dog sings along with ringtones!

A Chinese woman claims that her dog will sing along with ringtones on her phone. She said that her dog will actually make a series of noises that go exactly with the rhythm of the music in each particular ringtone. She said that the difference between the dog singing high and low tones is quite clear, and also that his speed is in good control. She also believes that from his expression while 'singing, he enjoys doing it ^_^ Do you have a dog that sings? ^_^ What do you think of this story? Would you like to own a singing dog? I sure would! I've seen singing dogs on television before, but this one does sound pretty exceptional, don't you think? ^_^ You can read more about the dog here: http://www.ananova.com/news/story/sm_2202916.html?menu=

Of course I sing, with my melodious woof, I could fill a concert hall no bother. There used to be a T.V. programme on U.K. television a few years ago called 'That's Life' which had asinging dog and a talking dog on it. I have a CD called 'Even Wolves sing', so you could sing along withe me as well. Together we could make chart history.

My dogs dont actually sing but they do try to talk to us in lil howls and whines when we talk to them. its really cute and i do that everyday when i come home and my dog foxy talks to me like he's asking why im late and how was my day etc.... I love talking back to them although its actually the other way round. They sound sooo cute. Besides they also reallly love music. My mom is a music teacher and whenever her students come home to learn at least 3 of my dogs are there sitting under the piano even before she can call them or play the piano. They know the day her students come home. If she plays at night when no one is around. the dogs are with her.

I have a little shitzu that "sings". More like a painful howling though. That and she cannot carry a tune. It is hilarious to watch. If she keeps it up long enough she can usually get 2 or 3 of the other dogs involved as well. Not the mormon tabernacle choir by a long shot.

I think Crazynurse is right, it's because they don't like the sounds they're hearing. I've seen people on tv convinced that they've taught their dogs to sing when they're really just howling. Blues music has the same effect, there's a Pink Floyd song (called Seamus after the dog), that includes this as part of the song. I haven't seen it but in the Pompeii film theirs a live performance with a dog howling along. this thread reminds me of a terrible record I heard on the radio once of dogs sampled sdo they were "singing" the Beatles.

Singing dogs huh? And poor Barbara Walters was poked fun of on the view for admitting that her dog said, "I love you". LOL I gt my dog to sing AND dance when she wants a bone! ha ha

Max our Lhasa X does not sing, he is rather on the quiet side, but Kipling our Chinese Crested certainly likes to sing, actually yodelling is probably more apt. And while it can be cute, it can also really get on our nerves at times! Cheers!

i guess it would classify more under dog with a wavering whining tone and not a singing dog

Forgive me if this has been stated already, I am answering from a link in an email and it brought me straight to this page. Dogs 'sing' and 'make noises' when the decible of the noise to which they are singing is hurting their ears. So this lady's dog is likely singing because the ringtone hurts the dogs ears! It can be cute, and looks as if the dog is enjoying it, but they aren't! Now maybe her dog truly enjoys music and is attempting to sing, I don't know. I suppose there are exceptions to the 'rule'!! Perhaps she has the first doggy 'Elvis' !!

I had a bird once that could imitate any tune it heard instantly. My dog however is tone deaf, she doesn't have a musical bone in her body. I've seen "singing dogs" on TV though, it's always amusing but I wouldn't rush out to buy the CD.

That Chinese woman sounds crazy! Maybe she's been drinking too much green tea or something. I probably shouldn't be one to talk, my dog (a scottish terrier named MacDuff) hardly makes noise at all.

LOL, I am trying to teach my dog to sing so does that count?? I have a beagle and her bark is almost like "Home on the range" so I sing along with her when she barks at me to go out. So far she isn't catching on :o(

I would love to see this singing dog on tv. It must be hilarious!! Our dogs will "sing" everytime an ambulance, or police car, or firetruck goes past our house (we live next to a highway). We can always tell when they're coming because our dogs will start howling long before we can hear the sirens ourselves.

both of my dogs howl- so I guess in their own way they are singing! But my lab Buca, he will grab a toy when you come home from work and do this singing type crying thing that is sooo cute. It will never make it to tv - but I love when he "sings" to me!!LOL

Although my dog doesn't sing, lol, I know of a couple who own some poodles. Every time you start to sing Happy Birthday they will howl along with you. It's quite funny to watch although I really wouldn't classify it as singing. They can't carry a tune to well, lol
