bathing my baby girl for the first time was a different experience. it was hard to do and scary. she was born 3 months preemature. she was so fragile and was still in the incubator when i got to wash her for the first time. she had to stay in the incubator because she needed to stay warm so i had to just wash her down fast and carefully. i couldn't rub too hard becuase her skin was so thin it would rip so my first experience was very scary but thank god i had nurses all around to help.

the first time i bathe my baby is when he was 5 days old, i am so nervous seeing his umbilical cord un attached and still fresh, i cannot touch him and i nearly cry when i saw it. but my mother-in-law taught me and she is beside me all the way, so it came very easy to me. now i can bathe my baby well.

when my daughter was first born, they showed me in the hospital how to bathe her and told me to bathe her after they had showed me, well oh my good god i nearly dropped her in the water and i panicked so the burse carried on washing her and so on, after that we had a chat and she tld me she would be back to see me before i left the hospital to try and bathe her again but i said no i didn't want too because of the scare the first time. so when i was home i always insisted my boyfriend bathed her as he grew up with babies in his family home and had bathed newborns before as i was too scared to even put her in the water. now that she is nearly 2, im okay bathing her because i know she can support herself in the water and sit down on her own without having to be held, i don't think i could ever bathe a newborn again neither to be honest, it was so scary at the time! :(

You are very brave to bathe your baby all by yourself. As for me, i asked my very experienced aunt to bathe my first baby for the very first time. It took over a year for me to get enough courage to bathe my baby all by myself. I always had help in bathing my baby because i just so afraid that i might hurt her.

My first child I was soooo nervous. I had never given any child a bath. My daughter was fussy. I cried. With my 2 younger boys, I was better at it, but I still had my middle son slip out of my hands. I was so scared, but I think everyone is scared and nervous the first bath. I will never forget any of my 3 kids first baths.

Not really. But he was really fussy during his first bath though. My husband videotaped the whole thing! But he learnt to like the water real quick!!!
