What to expect to go wrong when asking an agency to find a nanny?

Don't ask a stranger to find you a nanny, find one yourself, those are YOUR children and YOUR responsibility, make sure YOU choose the perfect person to care for your little peeps!! I would never allow another person to choose a nanny for my son, i know what's best for him, no one else...

I agree, but if you have no other options, what should I look out for?
I think they can offer me more alternatives to choose. It offers me a certain comfort to know they have been checked out by a professional agency rather then to approach her over the Internet.
Ultimately I talk to the persons myself and then I choose the one that fits my desired profile as closest as possible.
Did you ever hire a nanny for your child? What was your main concern? How did you know she's right for you and your son?
