Has anyone ever had trouble with PayPal.

I just spent three stressful hours on the phone with my bank and paypal together. I started a paypal account on the second of Feb to receive money for mylot and other places of interest. |It has been a nighmare ever since. I confirmed the initial two small payments with paypal. I took them off my online bank statement and then they disappeared, my bank argued with me those amounts were never deposited. Of course they were and paypal verified them. I had a series of deposits scheduled to go through from paypal and my bank promised me there would be no more problems. That is after speaking with 4 customer service reps and a supervisor. Today I open my email and guess what, a message from paypal saying invalid bank account and withdrawal denied. Again I call my bank speak to the 5th person, a different supervisor. And she called paypal, who said they got a notification from the bank and they returned to the initial small deposits. Paypal said the other deposit they made in the two of 104. and change no doubt would be returned as well. The deposit was made in two transactions, 1 of 77 dollars and change, and the other in 22 dollars and change. So long story short we settled the situation or so I thought. I open paypal account to see that there is a 44 dollar some change in my account. I am not supposed to have anything at this point and I don't know of such a deposit from anyone. I call paypal yet again and what they did was that they received the 77. and some change deposit that was rejected by the royal bank and they charged me a service charge of 30.00. I was livid, I told them that I was just a person caught in between a dispute with two big corporations and I was not paying that charge, I did nothing wrong. I told them they could fight it out with my bank but I want my money back. The supervisor cancelled the 30.00 charged and said it would be back in my account by tuesday. Then I have to send it right back to my bank. I can't believe all this problem, oh I forget a had to speak to a third supervisor, he actually called me, so that meant on the bank side I had to go through six people to get the mess cleared up and still when you factor in the 30 service charge which I didn't know about at the time I was speaking to the bank supervisor, it is still not resolved. I am waiting to find out what the next screw up will be before once and for all I can get everything normal. Anybody else have trouble with their bank or paypal?

What a story! I don't use paypal for depositing money into my bank account, rather an easier way to receive money online and then spend it again so I got nothing to loose in real life =). When I do withdraw money from my Paypal account and transfer it into my bank account, I'll let you know how it goes if you do

I do the same thing. I got paid for the first time last week of $55. I had forgotten to verify my account so I went through that. Instead of trying to take the money from Paypal and put it into my bank account I just spent it from Paypal. I used it in online stores. I have had no problems.

you can get paid by mylot via egold as well which is alot more easier as after getting funds into your egold account you can upload it into an international debit card and withdraw it at any atm worldwide or you could exchange your egold at an online exchanger and getting sent to your bank account or request for a cheque once you got your egold account opened, you can got to the mylot payment options section in your profile and choose payout in egold in the dropdown menu where you see paypal, after that just put in your egold account number and save changes you can open an egold account at : - http://www.e-gold.com/e-gold.asp?cid=3076319 you can apply for an international debit card at : - http://www.linkbrander.com/go/28214

What a nightmare! Im so sorry it has to be so hard to get a situation like this fixed. I hope it sorts out and never happens again! In my case it was the other way around. I had bought some items totalling 171 dollars. I was to be charged as soon as i got the goods, confirming everything was ok by email. I confirmed the same day, and thought nothing more about it, i let the amount just stay on my paypal acct. There goes about a month, and i am to pay for something I bought somewhere else. I get shocked when i see the amount still there! I mail the company instantly asking them when they are to charge me? I get a mail back they have. I return mail them and say no you havent charged me anything. They answer everything is ok, and say they charged me 171 dollars at a specific date. I check the date and see nothing on my account, no withdrawal confirm, nothing. I mail them again saying i have checked the date, and there is no charge done. They say ok i better get in touch with paypal then, because they have withdrawn my account and everything is very fine. I get in touch with them, and they did not record a withdrawal on that date. As i said. I get in touch with the company one last time telling them what is said. Well they have proof and all records show i was charged. I gave up at that point. And Its been a year now. I practically got the goods for free. But what do you do when they refuse to take your money? What could i have done more to fix this?

wow that is incredible, they don't want to take your money. I suspect somebody is fighting with paypal now over an unauthorized charge (your charge) that they know nothing about.

Yes its frustrating me. I dont feel much honest when they are so stubborn - But it shows, it can go both ways. I havent used that company since then out of fear it might happen again. Again, i hope it sorts out for you.

Well, me and my other half just recently had a purchase go seriously wrong via paypal. What happened is we bought a pair of doggy nail clippers off of eBay for my puppy. We've been using normal nail clippers and they've been doing a number on her nails as of late. Anyways, we had gone ahead and made the payment through paypal. We had previously done the "validated account" sign up a couple of months earlier where you enter a bank account and they do that whole deposit into your bank account. We received the deposits and validated the our paypal account and finalized all of that. We had made one purchase where we had to make sure the payment went through on our credit card and not through the bank account. When we looked at paypal this time we happened to forget that we had to choose where the payment was coming out of and it ended up processing the payment through the bank account. We did want it to go through the credit card because the money was there. It was the back up funding source so we thought the payment would automatically go there which it did. The problem was though with the bank. A few days later the payment was processed through the bank and came up as Not Sufficient Funds. We were immediately charged a 35 dollar fee for that and we were unsure if we were going to get the nail clippers in the first place. We later found out the clippers were paid for by that credit card. Anyways, I had to get my other half to phone the bank and try to explain the situation and see if there was a way to get the charge reversed. So he called the bank and upon speaking to a customer service agent we were told that the 35 dollar fee would be reversed in a few days because it had to be approved first. Well, we waited about four days in total before we began to wonder where the money was because it had not been credited to the account yet. I asked my other half to call the bank again and look into it. He spoke with another gentleman and explained the situation to him. He said there had been no action on the reversal and that he would put it through himself. He then told my other half that it is smart to have the proper amount of money in the account so this sort of thing doesn't happen. My other half told him that the payment was never supposed to be put through that account in the first place. Thankfully a day later we had the money credited and we were satisfied. We just need to be more mindful of that option where it asks you where the money for the purchase is going to come out of. I think paypal should place a scroll down option bar where you can easily pick where you want to pay the charge from as opposed to just having it come out of one certain account all the time. So, in conclusion, I believe a little more understanding on the bank's part and we could have had a much easier purchase. Paypal could definitely do something different to make paying for things easier in terms of what choices you have and how to pick them better. I am also sorry to hear about your experience with both the bank, as well as paypal. I know how you feel as you know from the situation I had explained on what me & my other half ended up having to go through.. I hope everything ends up working out for you some how.. As I know frustrating it truly is to have to go through situations such as this. I wish you all the best! . . Thanks for allowing me to share! xx

Yes , I have had problems with them in the past also . I tried to get into my account one day and it kept coming up I had the wrong password . It was the same password I always used before and I had money in that account and wanted to how much . I tried emailing them and calling them and everything but they kept telling me that until I proved for sure that I was 100% who I said I was that they could not help me . I answered all their questions and it still was good enough . They wanted me to fax them some I.D with my picture on it and something else , to prove I was who I said I was . After being on the phone for answering ALL their questions , they still would not help me with changing my password so I could get back into my account . They kept telling me that somehow I could have found all this information out and had to protect the account that they didn't believe was mine . To this day I have a account opened with them with no way to get into it to get my money out as they have it locked for my protection , is what they tell me . I had to open a new account and I don't like the idea of having any money in it as I don't trust them anymore since they won't let me into my other account .

wow, it just seems like you bank is the one screwing up. i never had a problem with mine that much. the first time i tried to get my account verified and didn't see anything. but i'm not sure if i did it right either. but when i did it again, it gave me the option to do a quick verify if i have an online banking user name. i imputed that and of course i was instantly verified. i havent' transfered anything to my bank account from my paypal yet. but i won't until a have about $100 or more in there. so far i've been spening my mylot earnings on online shopping..hehe.. anywayz. right now i have my PayPal hooked up to a savings account and i think i remember them saying that i can't have money taken out of my savings and placed into paypal, i can only deposit into my savings. hopfully this is still true, and if it is its a pretty good deal anyway.

I think anything you are not quite sure of you should call paypal and have them explain. When I first opened my account, I wanted to be able to receive money all along. I opened a personal account but then called them to make sure I could receive money. I couldn't on the account I opened. They told me I could only send money. I had to change my account to a personal business account. I would have never known that until I called them.

Hi Winterose, I've never gotten as far as my bank with paypal, because although I've had a Paypal account since 2003, I have never been able to use it. Paypal took a dislike to me when they were being sued in a Californian class-action for unethical treatment of their clients (which they lost big-time in early 2004). So Paypal has black-banned my Paypal account and all details associated with it. This is since late 2003. And because they have also banned any details associated with my existing account (which I can neither use or cancel) I can nver create a new Paypal account either. I have approached Paypal on a number of occasions about this matter (whatever their particular problem might be) but I have been given the royal run-around every time. Each time I get a "new" customer service rep, and each time they say to do some online nonsense (it's different each time) and nothing changes. I have kept email records of all of this. This has been going on for years. Which has convinced me that Paypal is actually a very NASTY piece of work. It apparently hasn't changed it's spots since it lost that massive class-action suit in California. And they like to take their spite out on selected individuals who are effectively helpless in the face of Paypal's growing market power and virtual payment processor monopoly. It seems to me that Paypal is nice when it pays them, but they have an unpublicised, hidden culture which takes delight in squashing anyone who they've developed a grudge against.

Wow, you have really been through the wringer with this! I have been with Paypal since they first started over 10 years ago, (Wow Ihadn't realised it had been that long!!!), and I have never had a problem with them at all. It sounds to me like your bank is messing with you on this, it doesn't sound like paypal at all. Good luck with getting everything worked out. We bank with a credit union, and never had any trouble at all.

I have never had trouble with Paypal. I have been with them a long time. My bank did everything it was suppose to do and I transfer money to my bank from Paypal all the time. It sounds like your bank was the problem. Hopefully you have it straightened out. No one needs that kind of trouble. I do get a lot of emails that says from Paypal but in reality they are people trying to get personal information. So please be careful and don't give any personal information to people posing as Paypal as Paypal don't ask for your personal information through email like that. Good luck to you.

I've had a problem with it. I sold something over the internet. Everything went well for a day or so. Money was given to my Paypal account. Soon, I got an email that the buyer took back his money. AKA chargebacked. I lost the money that he took back. Even though paypal is accepted at many online stores, theres the fact that people can chargback and get their money back. With e-gold you dont have this problem.

I was surprised to hear that you had problems with paypal and/or your bank as I have never experienced any problems with paypal. My depsoits went through fine with my bank when I first started and paypal verified it. That is terrible that you were charged a fee by your bank. I hope that your situation gets resolved so you can start making money.

Personally, I've never had anything but good experiences with Paypal. All of my payments go in on time, my withdrawals into my Paypal account go smoothly, and deposits from Paypal to my bank account are always completed in record time. I've never had payments go missing or anything like that. I'm sorry that you've had this experience! Seems like you've had a real bout of bad luck, both with Paypal and your Bank institution.

yes coolcatzz, my bank was the problem from the beginning. I had to go through 6 people to get it fixed. Three customer service reps, two supervisors and a customer care agent from the escalation department. I will only be dealing with him from now on over this matter. They were telling me from day one that everything was okay, they accept paypal and then they returned all the funds back to paypal. It was totally ridiculous.

I must confess I have not had this kind of issue crop up with PayPal, but I have conducted dozens of transactions, mostly payouts, and have rarely accepted desposits from the outside. I am very careful with PayPal since it is possible to access one of my primary checking accounts through PayPal and people lurk out there in cyberspace ready to do just that through accessing PayPal accounts and indirectly siphoning out funds from primary accounts. What you are likely running into is PayPal's extensive security protocols which cause these kinds of complications. You just simply have to do precisely what you are doing because PayPal is endeavoring to make sure you are not trying to "game" a PayPal account.

radical it is just crazy, the primary problem is the bank and paypal basically is reacting. The bank sent back the money deposited from paypal so of course paypal figures I did not produce a good bank account. But after three hours of being on line with my bank and paypal and thinking everything is resolved and then getting a service charge from paypal is enough to send anyone over the edge. They did take it off though.

I must say, that I had trouble, and was frustrated to no end, only my trouble was light in comparison. I have been dealing with the bank for 28 years, and was told my account was not valid when I tried to register my bank card, the I was told that my checking account, was not valid in the U.S. My suggestion is not give up, it will work out eventually, but it is hard.
