I don't know that coffee really has any nutrients, and if you add sugar and creamer you are getting unhealthy additives. I thought I needed coffee every morning, but when my doctor told me to cut caffeine, I did with no problem. Now I may have a cup of half-caf every two or three weeks. There are many problems that caffeine can cause. Mine was cysts, and at the end of the month I have to go back to the doc and make sure that I have taken to proper steps to get rid of them.

yes tea do have caffeine but the amount is alot smaller compared to a coffee. its like you can drink a dozen cups of tea and the amount of caffeine you consumed is no way near to a cup of coffee. have you ever heard of someone being a tea addict?

from old days alot of people say that coffee is bad for heallth becasue it can increase your nerveousness and can get you addicted but now lots of scientific study correct this myth. actually coffee is good for your health but of course with the right amount of intake. coffee contains antioxidants that can lessen the rate of aging. it fight the free radicals in our body and can help our psych awake. you know what, i have a friend who always drinks coffee everymorning and if you will look at her she looks younger than her age.. i guess that is one of the effect of coffe on her.

Yes I do the same for the same reason, oh yes too much coffee is bad for you, it is the caffine in the coffee that is bad for you, it does not keep me awake if I have coffee when I want to go to bed but then it all depends on how much coffee you consume but some other people do have this problem, with coffee and so normally have a cup of tea or something else like chocolate. I do not think that there are any nutrients in drinking coffee it but there must be some addatives as so many people are addicated to it including myself.

Those coffees that are chemically produced are definitely bad to our health, but other coffees are good, it has an anti-oxidant components that is beneficial to our body. If you are very conscious about your health, how about try to drink tea instead?

I used to be a coffee drinker too when I was still working as a System Programmer, it helps me to keep awake during overnight duties, but after I read several facts about coffee, I started to quit moderately (yes, it's addictive).

well, i really believe taking too much coffee can have an effect on your health in the long run because it contains caffeine... and i don't think caffeine is good for health... so far, i never heard of anybody telling me about the nutrients contain in the coffee... may be it doesn't contain any nutrients at all... i don't know... :-)

I am not sure about any nutrients but I have heard that it can benefit our large intestine in some way. I always buy ecological coffee, to avoid the pesticides used in ordinary coffee and I have heard from some experts that more than four cups a day is harmful for us. Filter coffee is better than cooked, the fats that coffee contain stay in the filter - hopefully - and do not harm us. The coffee is rusted so the fats must be bad for us. Well, just continue to enjoy your morning coffee. But you could of course start your day with fresh fruits and wait a while with the coffee.

Coffee has caffine so its best not to drink TOO much, maybe 2-4 cups a week would be okay I guess, but its really hard to get to bed after you drink coffee, which gives you high sugar blood levels which makes you active and makes it that much more difficult to fall asleep. You may have heard this info before, but hope this helps

When you talk coffee, you have to talk caffeine, unless you are drinking decaf which is a different story (reading other threads decaf involves chemicals in most brands, gods!). So the question is: What is the effect of caffeine on the brain and how is that effecting you? (Chocolate is in this category also cause chocolate contains caffeine). Caffeine is a stimulant to the brain - that's why you feel high, or hyper, it wakes you up. But with all stimulants they wear off and when this happens you can feel lower than you felt before the caffeine, or chocolate fix. Continuous cups of coffee - like our 20 a day addict - I don't want to think what's going on there. If this person wanted to give up he/she would need to ease down on those cups per day to ensure a full-on withdrawal does not take him/her to the abyss. Withdrawal from caffeine usually results in migraines or to a lesser degree headaches. As you have explored coke and sodas have caffeine and guess who's drinking them like there's no tomorrow - kids. And there seems to be a growing incidents of depression in teenagers which could be directly linked to caffeine in their diets. Once upon a time - many moons ago, kids were not allowed to have coffee (parent's rules), and I guess this is why. So it's great to get the high, but be aware of the fall.

I think we all know that too much coffee is bad for us - but it is so yummy! I make a point of having only 3/4 small cups a day, and definitely no coffee after 4pm, because it would stop me getting to sleep. I would drink tea at night if possible.

In excess, coffee can be bad for you because of the caffeine content. Most physicians and nutrition guides recommend limiting caffeine intake. However, a couple cups of coffee per day isn't going to hurt you- in fact, it could even help you. Coffee has antioxidants and flavonoids in it that can help prevent cancer and some other diseases. So go ahead and drink up.

jelaichie it would be awesome if this question to be answered by a panel of doctors or so called professionals, because really. This is a good question. If we had to live by what we're told my lord we would'nt eat or drink anything. I laugh at these people that say they can't drink coffee before bed because the caffeine keeps them up,so what do they do they have a cup of cocoa or a cup of tea, well HELLO hot chocolate and tea have just as much caffeine in them as coffee. All I know is when I die I seriously doubt it'll be because I drank 5or 6 cups of coffee that day. Eat Drink and Be Happy !!!Grandmaof2

well...if you're a coffee drinker chances are you've heard heard somebody will say the coffee is harmful to your health...but there's a new research indicates thatdrinking few cups of coffee each day may actually lower your risk for certain diseases...moderate amount of coffee up tp 5 cups per day may lower your risk of cardiovascular diseases, Parkinson and Alzeihmers. In addition it's a good source of antioxidants which is the battle cancer-causing free radicals. So i think you don't have to give up your morning coffee..however the researchers also found that the positive effects of drinking coffee no longer can be seen in folks who drink more than 5 cups a day, so it's important to moderate your intake....To promote good health serious coffee drinkers should watch out for hidden caffeine such as tea, chocolate and soda to avoid too much caffeine. Get plenty of fruits and veggies. Get enough calcium intake and Vitamin D for caffeine affects the amout of calcium our body absorbs which may cause osteoporosis. of course, we shoul also engage in regular exercise.
