"Designer" handbag

A friend of mine just bought a supposedly genuine Coach handbag from a store on Ebay for $200. I told her it's probably a fake cos' I don't think there will be so many genuine brand new Coach handbags floating around on Ebay. Why would Coach (or any other designers) want to spoil their market by selling their stuff so cheap online? She went on to show me the tags and all and I told her everything can be copied to make it look like the real thing and that she could probably get the exact same thing from Canal St in New York for $20! She was not happy to hear that. But I really think she got ripped off. I think it's just a good imitation and she thinks it's the real thing. What do you think?

They just had a report on Good Morning America, about buying designer purses online and how they all turned to be fakes. They compared them to the real thing and you can definitely tell the difference close up. Sounds like your friend probably did get ripped off.

Yeah, I think so too. I don't mind buying a fake if I know it's a fake but to buy it thinking it's real..oh...so wrong!!!

It could be a fake, I don't really know cause I would never spend $200 on a handbag. Call me cheap but the most I've ever spent was like $40 on a handbag. I like your idea of going to NY and buying the handbag for $20. That's right in my price range LOL.
