Ok I have heard so much about how nintendo wii gamers are losing wieght. I dont think that its true though. I believe its just nintendos plan to get obese people to buy their system. Do you know anyone who has lost weight from playing the wii?

it gets people up off the couch and moving around so even if they aren't losing weight at least they are being more active. However, if you do Dance Dance Revolution everyday for 30 minutes a day you will lose weight. The Wii doesn't have DDR yet but it will soon. I've only heard users say it helps them lose weight i don't recall nintendo ever promoting that, but i could be wrong and just haven't seen it yet.

Well I don't think it's designed to get people to lose weight, but if you played some of the sports games every day like tennis, then I would imagine you might at least tone up your arms, because I know my arms get tired even after a short period of time playing with it. I don't think it's meant to give anyone life altering weight loss. But if someone does lose some weight that's good! I am sure it's better than just sitting on the couch, so even getting people up off the couch is a good thing.

I have not lost any weight, but I dont push myself to hard. I wouldnt be surprised though, especially with wii sports, like boxing, you can easily work up a sweat in 10 minutes of intense playing.

Some of the Wii games are designed to get the players to get off their couches and physically move to play the game. Bowling is one such game and there will be others introduced in the near future. If you play these interactive games for thirty minutes a day, you can lose weight so it is true. I think it's a great idea that someone finally came up with an idea to get people to move around while they are playing video games. http://www.next-gen.biz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=4768&Itemid=2

I do not think that the Wii will help everyone lose weight, but I definitely can see how it would help some. A lot of the games require a lot of movement and I know I've worked up a sweat playing or been sore the next day some times. For people who never get off their couch or out of their computer chair, even a half an hour a day of moving around and interacting with the Wii is better than nothing and could actually help them lose weight. It isn't a miracle cure and no one will shed 60 pounds or anything, but it's a good start to get people off their butts.

tried and tested! i love wii fit! what i do, instead of going to the gym, i just played wii at home, i get to exercise at the comfort of my own home, youll get sweat by playing some of the games like badminton, tennis and a lot more, im not really fat but i guess it helped me maintain my body, i move my body all around jump, sway my hands, and many more, its like playing in the badminton court and jogging around the village... its really healthy i swear at the same time youre having fun playing! :)
