Which is the best type?

Well if it is a security dog you are looking for! Well the two breeds I would reccommend is the German Shepherd or the doberman! Both good smart security dogs to have around Lynn-Marie

When researching dogs I found that the Karelian Bear Dog is a very good dog for protection! Once they bond with their "family" they will do anything and everything to protect them! I live where there is a high rate of predatoray animals, Karelians are good for protection from them. He watches my children and the neighbors children very carefully and alerts us when they are doing something they are not suppose to be doing!

I think the best gaurd dog is the Doberman.They are lithe and very alert dogs.

i think for me, it is the german sherpards. we used to have one when we were young and he used to defend us from strangers. well, they way we trained him.

i think "Labrador" are the best breed of dog, both security wise and whom i find the most loyal of all dogs. Other dogs like Doberman, etc are simply a one-man dog which many a times take a go on their own family members . So , pick wisely as per your need ..
