Listening to the news of late I had to comment on the new chemical additive to boost performance. Of course as in all sports taking supplements that are deemed illegal to boost body, speed, performance and longevity, there are always consequences when caught or in time captured by the consequences of actions taken over time. Adding chemicals to strengthen the ability of a particular participant or object can have long term drawbacks. Improved horsepower can lead to blown engines before the race is over. Like many people involved in sports the short term gain can have devastating results and even lead to premature death, or prevent the proper growth and development of the next generation. Chemicals can leave a person sterile ending a branch of the human genome. The strength of a character that refuses to participate in illicit use of banned or illegal substances must be supported and given credit when moving to the front and scoring big points with victories achieved by and through hard work and practice. Craftmanship and skill, an eye for detail and a willingness to work hard should all be nobel attributes for those seeking to climb out of the ranks and lead the way to the finish line. Attitude and determination, the right equipment and knowing how to polish and buff the high and low areas, to stroke and tune an engine where the purr is pure performance and the screams are pure ecstasy as driven hard and for a long time, draining the life out of machine and operator, in the end a good time had by all when done correctly. The most beautiful thing to watch is natural grace and skill to use all the tools available.
