Friends Or Not

How do you know when someone is a friend to you or not? What is a friend actually to you? If someone says that he/she is a friend to you, how do you know that it's true? If you find that she/he's actually stabbing you behind your back, what would be the best for you to do, and how would you treat her/him? If someone says that he/she is a friend to you, but you don't want to be friend with her/him, what would you do and how would you treat her/him? Everyone probably has her/his own definition of "friends", if you don't mind, I'd like to know as a part of my growing life experience. Thanks in advanced.

listen to your heart. simple yet very helpful. you will just know it based on your instincts and past experiences where you feel comfortable being with that person.

That's true ... but I am simply hard to listen to my heart as I try to trust people around me, but they just simply misuse my trust, most of the time. I tend to only stick to people who know me the longest and the most.

A friend to me is the one who's always there for me. Or at least try their best to be there for me, sincerely. A friend to me is the one who I could disagree, but always agree about our disagreement, but still be friends and never turn her/his back on me. One who's not two faces, but with love would tell me when I'm wrong or not doing the right thing. A friend to me is the one who could honestly share my sadness and my happiness. I could tell my story, my secret, and still trust her judgement in the outcome of what she/he is going to do about it. A friend to me is the one who wouldn't publicly insult me no matter how bad I am.
