The only was you can conquer your fear is to face it head on. You need to take swimming classes and pretty soon you'll learn how much fun it is to swim.

It is normaly to be afraid to sink if u are not a good swimmer.I`m a good swimmwer. Iwas national champ. in 1973 I was 7 years old. But I remember I was afraid too when I started this sport. Do you why are people afraid to water? I tell you. Our mind is not prepared to accept too easy something we can`t understand. When we can`t understand something first thing is to reject it. But if we want something very much we can order to our own mind to accept that. So for the first you must be friend with water, don`t forgot we are 70% water, you have to accept water naturaly, then learn with easy exercise to breathe under the water surface. Learn how to sink your head and cronomate what time u can stay without air. Leran to floating, but the most important thing is to learn your own mind that everything is posibile and water is not your enemy, and belive me is not indeed. I hope my advice will help you. But at least all depends only by you. Succes

Is there a friend that could go with you when you go swimming next who you would feel confident to help you with your swimming problem? Or is it possible to get an instructor to teach you how to swim? Good luck!

I've got a similar problem - I like swimming and I swim somehow, but... I'm afraid of water, especially feeling the water in my mouth and nose! Unfortunately I can't advise anything to you as I haven't solved the problem for myself :(

hi da here is the solution 4 ur fear stand in place which is about 5 feet ie just water should come to your neck, try to imerse in water keeping your breath for some time ,this gives u confidence that u can be in water for some time, after this come to free air & take a long breath ,now do the same thing & try to float in water keep in mind do not move your arms or legs just try to flot keeping ur face in side water ,do this for 2 to 3 days after this u will definitly lose your fear because know u how to float

I used to have the same problem with boxing, I would love everything about boxing but get scared of punches. The only way around these things are repetion. If you want to not be afriad of swimming, you have to swim. Set goals and accomplish them, sooner or later you will gain confidence. Not be afraid of drowning.

Start Swimming a in about 1m and gradually get deeper, you will gain confidence that way. I used to have the same problem with Rugby, i loved running with the ball and tackling people but i didnt want to get tackled, i was in the front line in the scrum so that was a bit scary.
