i just designed a flag for my family name........please look..

Do you like it?
i am crap with computers as you are all aware of by now..but my lovely hubby has taken time out to teach me how to paint..
to explain..
the yellow circle denotes China..
the purple diamond represents heaven as does the yi ching symble on top..
the red triangle denotes earth as does the yi ching syble on the bottom..
the charater in the middle is my husband's family name YAN ..
this has a spiritual meaning for me as i got this image in my meditation..i wanted with the coming of the Chinese new year to offer a gift to my husband's anscestors..
i hope they like it and bless me ..wherever they are..
this is from the depths of my heart and soul..for the love i have for their son..
please tell me if you like it..

The circle or ring symbolises continuity or eternity as it has no beginning or end. In the middle is actually a diamond which is a symbol of prosperity, wealth and stability, if you know the qualities of a diamond. I think you have done a good job for the whole generation.

A few days back I finished reading Da Vinci Code, and what did I remember? Your flag. I have missed a good interpretation of your flag but it was give in Da Vinci Code.
Your flag also symbolises the union between you and your husband. The Male spear on top ^ and the female chalice at the bottom v . They are joined together in the middle.

wow man are you an alchemist lol?..i love every interpretation of the flag..i saw meditations with these shapes..the diamond shape comes from a celestial dance i recieved through a poem i was given when i was going through a 'phase' let's say..it is a dance where time does not exist..a folding space dance..

I think the flag you created for your family name is very beautiful and very creative. You did a wonderful job and there is no doubt in my mind that your family will love it and take that flag as part of them. You definitely have artistic abilities and are creative and very thoughtful. I have never thought about doing something like that.

I really like it. The family flag is very personal and meaningfull. What does your husband think of it? I think he must be very proud of you for making it. Please tell your children and someday your grandchild about the mmeanings of the things on the flag so that fly the flag with pride.

it made me cry..but i feel already it is a very powerful mandal..whenever i feel weak..i look at it and draw strength from the archetypes it represents..God likes to show Himself in many subtle ways..it is up to us i think to want to see with the eyes of our heart..rather than be stuck in the realm of intellect..that always has its limits..sorry going a bit deep here lol..

It's beautiful. I think it's wonderful when there are family crests for the family name. It can become a piece of heritage your family can pass down with them. My Husbands family had one and it was reproduced several times for members of the family to have, they were embroidered and gorgeous! Congratulations! I love Oriental Writing too, my name is Kim and I love the way it looks, I have carved it in wood and it looks great. Keep up the awesome work!

That's wonderful! I love how you put together so many elements that describe you and your family. I know that you will be blessed for it. I think that it's a lovely image, as well. The colors are quite striking! You've got me wondering what a flag for my own family would/could look like. Thank you for sharing this with us!
