Does anyone really like this new star number rating? I don't. I think it causes stress, when we are suppose to have fun and enjoy one another. I see no purpose to have it.

I am not wild about it, as it seems to cause so many of my friends distress. I post to people who interest me, and hope that I am interesting enough when I start discussions that someone will post to mine. I have not started any in awhile, and probably will not until tomottow. I have a number of friends who have been hacked or spammed and have had their stars drop as many as three points overnight. I also cannot get anyone to explain to me where they are seeing the percentages, but a lot of people talk about them. Do you know where to find those?

I was a 10. I don't like it nor do I see a reason for it. I don't know where the % is and I don't want to know either.

Hold the curser over the star, and the % will show, just found out.

I have an 8 star rating. It used to be 7. I was a bit happy when it increases. It doesn't really happen if it increase or decrease I do accept my rating whatever it is. It doesn't cause me stress at all. It actually makes me to strive more. I like the idea of star rating. You have a 9 star rating in you. Why does it cause you stress?

I had a 10. I don't like it going up and down, and don't see a reason to have it.

I posted once but My computer shut down when I made my statement. I think Mylot does this to keep tabs on us. don't you agree?

I think that it does cause members a lot of stress, especially when the numbers go down. I have seen at least a few discussions from people when their numbers had dropped. It doesn't bother me at all but for others it seems it does more harm than good. Maybe they should just have the star there with a particular color but no number in it so that we do not know what is good or bad with the color selection.

No I don't. It is so easy to lose percentages and so difficult to gain them back. I prefer not to know if there is some-one who it assassinating my reputation. I was much happier just having my points to worry about with out the star system . I don't think it affects your earnings what your star says. MyLot has only had it's secret formula for that.

Well I like it, but I don't like the way it can be abused. I think that maybe mylot will make changes to it like they do everything else. It does cause alot of stress though. But if some of these dummies followed the rules instead of attacking people we would be better off. I hope that mylot either changes it somehow of just does away with it. I think it really isn't working the way they planned it to.

No, I´m also not too happy with the star rating. When it first showed up I thought it was a good idea to keep spammers away because they would soon see their star rating drop. But I don´t think that this is the case. From what I´ve observed the star rating can drop for no particular reason. This is a forum and not a competition of popularity. I think it can cause stress. I suppose the staff invented the rating in order to get us to give more quality replies and start good discussions and to see who are the goodies and the baddies according to their terms. But what exactly are their terms anyway? It was perfectly alright beforehand.

The star represents your mylot reputation, for example currently you are 94/100. Why bother about it? just try and answer to the best of yuor ability and leave it to the others to give you a '+' or '-'. I try and give a plus to each and everyone, so heres one for your discussion.

It is a bit of the popularity thing that I was concerned about. It is something that I have learned to ignore. Frustating while the site is still in its infancy and trying to grow up. If it affects our pay then that is cause for distress. Since others have control over your own efforts. It is a shame since indeed we are to be sharing, learning and earning. This does not add to that experience.

Well, Margie, you already know how I feel about the star ratings! They have been nothing but a problem since MyLot started them. If used correctly, the rating system would effectively determine an accurate rating. However, we all know that there are many ignorant people here who are using the negative ratings as a weapon to lower the ratings of some users who deserve better ratings than they have. I think that the only solution is to eliminate the negative ratings altogether. Keep the abuse to report to MyLot, and keep the positive ratings. That way MyLot will be the ones determining if there is anything negative to be reflected in the user's rating. They are the ones who are paying us, so doesn't it make sense that they should have the input into rating our quality?

It sorta of stresses me out. Mine dropped 2 points over night and I don't know why. They said when they put it in place it is how you are viewed in the myLot community. I don't know what I did to tick people off in one night.

I don't think it serves much purpose. It is too easy to be manipulated. Say something wrong and your rating gets pushed down. I think many people rate posts based on whether or not they agree with them and not so much on the quality of the post. That is why they don't work to well.

I really dont care to have the star rating either. I had a 10 for one day only and haven't done anything any different here and it went down to a 9 the next day and has stayed there. I'm very surprised that it hasn't went down further than that actually. I don't think people are rating everyone and maybe some of them are rating us negative on purpose, who knows? I do the best I can here and hope for the best. the rest is up to mylot to see if I am doing this respectively or not. I'm not sure what else to do with it.

No I am not to keen it as I am seeing many good People getting upset at how their Rates are dropping and I think also it is giving evil People a chance to harm the good People on here, which is happening. They down rating People just for the Phone of it.

I think it causes lots of stress and should just be done away with! I think that it's abused and some people use it against other users. I don't see what the point is and I liked Mylot a lot better before the whole star thing!

In my point of view, i like the star rating. This is like a reminder of how we are doing here in mylot, this can inspire us, and when we get lower let's not be deppressed, rather let us strive to have that rating we have before. That's how i see the star rating.

Can you share what it was like before? I am really new here but I've heard people repeatedly saying how the past was better - but I don't know what the past is like. Thanks.
