Life without a computer? We won't have any cars, no wireless telecoms, no computers, no internet, no data management of accounts..etc. It's like were back in the 1800's. We will use snail mail, our pictures will be painted as portraits. We don't have cars but we'll have carriages that'll take us forever to get to our destination. We won't have any modern medical remedies because we don't have any scientific tools to study specimens better. Our form of data storage will be fragile paper stocked inside a wooden room. It's literally living in the past. There are only 3 things I enjoyed about the past... it's history, chivalry, clean environment compared oday.

Right now with the way that society is structured I do not think that we would be able to live without computers. The majority of people would be in trouble because business are run with computers and if you shut down certain industries, or even slow them down you would create a huge problem. The biggest example would be the food industry, since there is already a high demand for food throughout the world any slow down the the delivery and distribution would be a disaster. We have to grow and expand technology as we have always done, we cannot afford to go backwards.

My PC is my lifeline to the rest of mt family because I live so far away from them. Sending an email is so much faster and cheaper than calling them up. (Canada to UK phone rates are astronomical!) My Dad and I keep in touch via email, so does my sister. I have friends scattered all over the world, we keep in touch via email and instant messenger. I definitely could not live without my PC.

No I really don't think people can live without computers anyumore. Everywhere you go, everything you do, it's all about computers. I love mine and I'd be lost without it but I think it's a shame young people today can't hardly make change from a five dollar bill without looking at the till to see how much change to return to the customer. We will always have computers now I'm sure.
