I have always been skinny and i eat good foods, and i have never been able to gain weight, if i do gain weight i tend to burn it of, do you know which foods are the most fatterning, and does anyone have the same problem, of course people say to me i wish a was a skinny as you but i certainly do need a few extra kilos on top. My weight is 42 kilo i'm pretty short. Or maybe thers a special diet out there for thin people to get fat. please let me know your opinion

I do share your pain. I'm a skinny guy too. at 5'7" I'm playing somewhere 45 to 50 kilos. I used to wish to increase my weight, but after several attemp, all failed. I tried bodybuilding but instead of increasing my strength i lose more. I do now drink protien shake to maintain my weigth. Now I focus on rock climbing and I find it is my advantage being skinny. I'm now doing some strength training (training only to increase strength NOT muscle size) and I find it more relaxing and enjoyable. and most people will be suprised seeing me doing pull-ups with at least 15 kilos on my waist. And one more advantage I find being skinny is that I can eat any type of food without worrying about colestorhol, fat and sugar intake.

try doing some strength training, it will increase your appetite, I eat a lot too, problem is I really burn food fast. it is just a 20 mins work-out, or you can break them in 4 part, 5 mins each. for starters do 5 reps of push-up, rest for 5 mins and do another 5. on 2nd part, do 5 reps of squats rest 5 mins do another part. for the 3rd part repeat part 1, and for 4th repeat part 2. If you find you lack strength to do push-up try placing your arm on a chair or a table, for squat, dont lower yourself to much. focus on increasing the difficulty rather than the repitition :) hope this helps

Well there is a lot of powders and shakes you can try to gain weight you can get them at health stores and stuff like that. Also between that and protein like meats, etc, will help also. My brother does both of those things and hes gained a good amount of weight.

I do eat lots of meat, but these shakes sounds good to me so basically i have my normal dinner then a shake which i would imagine contain lots of protien and heath benefactory items, so in therory i would be having double meals a day

I have been cuddly all my life Tara so I would say to you ,"eat everything it tells you not to eat in a calorie controlled diet" fatty foods full cream milk and cream cakes would be a good start but then these are not healthy foods , I would say stay as you are pal , you look fit and healthy to me and lovely with it xxx

All you have to do is do aerobics. Usually aerobic exercises are recommended on losing weight but there is a catch. With aerobics you body would tend to ask more food than you usually consume after the exercise routine. You will lose weight if you wait for an hour or two before taking your meal. But if you take a meal right away after the exercise then you would really gain a lot of wait.

When my dad had cancer the doctors and nurses suggested ways of adding calories to his diet without increasing his food intake. I don't remember a lot of them because this was back in 1997 but I'll list the ones I do remember. 1. If you drink shakes, we have something here called Carnation Instant Breakfast, it's a powder you add to milk and you drink it instead of having breakfast. I don't know if you have anything like that where you are. But when you make your shake add a package of the instant breakfast to the shake, it adds calories. 2. If you like mashed potatoes, replace some of the milk or all of the milk with cream (heavy or light), this will add calories. These are the only two I remember right now.

Hi Cheetah thanks for your reply, i have seen carnation bits in our local iceland and i do love milk shakes, so i will pop to the shop tomorrow if they have'nt got it they are very good and will order it...LOL..mash potatoes a different matter, looks like i'll have to hold my nose and have more shepards pie !! I have actually started adding cream to my coffee in the morning, was thinking along the same lines as you with regards to needing more calories. Have a good evening Tara xx
