Start discussions, that are broad and likely to catch a lot of attention. Post quality answers, make sure to reply and respond to your discussions and rate people, and surely they will notice you. add friends, and try and recruit them to read your own discussions.

Try to make sure that your posts are in depth, as it says on the side of the page "as descriptive as possible". Uploading photos that fit the results is a good way, too.
