Regrettably the prices for bananas still haven't dropped very far yet rosebug. Last week I mentioned to my husband that I really felt like a banana, so when we were shopping he bought a couple for me. I worked out that they cost $2.06 cents each, so until the price drops I will not be eating any more bananas.

Guess what rosebug the bananas are back once again and the price is reasonable too. I got some last week and they were down to $2.48/kilo, so I was very happy. Now my "gripe" is that they have to be eaten or used within a couple or days because they cannot be frozen. LOL

Wow that makes our Bananas sound cheap .that is a ridiculous amount for a cantelope.
Years ago friends of mine were in London ans paid $25 for a very small watermelon but your Cantalope beats that hands down

I hope the prices have gone down, this would even be expensive in Iceland! I checked the exchange rate for the Australian Dollar vs the Icelandic Krona and think we pay about AU $7 or a little less for a kilo of bananas, sometimes they go down to maybe AU $5 but that is rare. To us that is not very expensive compared to other fruit or groceries.
