What is a car wash for?

yesterday my hubby and a friend were told they could not wash a muddy truck there. i always thought that is what they were for. am i wrong have i missed something?

Seriously? That makes no sense. The idea of a carwash is to get your vehicle clean. If it's muddy, you would need to get it clean. Did they explain their reasons?

the reason they gave was that the mud filled the bays below and they have to shovel them out. so what i got from it was if you do it then they have to work and do their job. in the mean time they have to close that bay so no one can use it till there done shoveling. the next day we went to a different car wash and the guy was very nice and put more time on it if my hubby would just spray down the walls when he was done. i am guessing the guy was just lazy and didn't want to do much that day. thanks for the response

I would say that that is what they are there for to get car clean what was their problem about your friend washing a car there do they just want cars that have been washed somewhere else?

they said it was to muddy and they were not going to allow that anymore. but as i said i thought that is what they were for. thanks again for the response

Yes i thought a car wash was to clean a dirty car, i can not believe that they would tell you that it could be washed there. THat is crazy.

LOL... Was it excessively muddy? I'm lost too.. You aren't supposed to wash a clean car. I've seen the signs please do not clean out your car in the bays.. This just means you can't take out your garbage and stuff-- holds up the lines. I've taken my car to the car wash when it has been very muddy-- Big mud chunks hanging from the bottom.. No problems! I usually don't go to the real busy car washes-- so there isn't any one to tell me what to do and what not to do.. I find this quite humorous though!

yes i find it quite funny also but crazy. i have never takin mine to a car wash clean. they had been driving in a mud hole so it was very muddy but i thought that is why car washs were there but i guess i was wrong.

Wow , that sounds pretty crazy. I have never heard that. If you cant wash a dirty car then they should put only clean cars can be washed here. I would have thrown a hissy fit .

yes i probly would of thrown a fit but i wasn't there and my hubby is mr. niceguy and just shakes his head and says ok. hes always been that way and thats were we but heads sometimes cuz i am not like that at all i would of said something about it. hes probly glad i wasn't there.lol thank you for your response

I know that my hubby will not go to the car wash. He said that if you go threw a car wash it can scratch your vehicle. He will only go if there is a place you can wash your car yourself. You are definitley not missing anything....I think it is a guy thing!

yes my hubby washes ours here at home too. he loves to wash it. i think hes nuts.lol we don't have very good water presure so thats why they went to the car wash so they could get the mud off it. my hubby don't like the car wash much anyway so no lose with us as long as he keeps washing it.

Well I guess the owners dont want to make any money. huh. Thats what there for. Go some where else.
