with the stomach cancer and teeth falling out, well ive never heard of that this can happen to be honest! you should try and find something else to do instead of biting your nails, try eating gum or sweets or even lollipops when you feel the urge to do it! all i know is that biting fingernails is just like licking a toilet seat because of all the germs inside them, you may not see them but they are in there somewhere, my doctor told me this when i used to do it and i stopped straight away, since then i haven't even put my fingers near my mouth! hope you solve your issue! :o)

What a load of rubbish. I bite my nails and there is nothing that can harm you over it. I also have tried quiting and the temptation is just too strong. I have tried almost everything, but they are right there....
