Do you REPLY to ALL Responses to your discussions?

Do you reply to all responses you get to your discussions? I am finding this a bit overwhelming. If I just get one to three responses, I can reply to each and every one of them. But I am finding that with some discussions, such as the homework one I started yesterday, there are just far too many. I have replied to about thrree quarters of the homework responses, and that took me over an hour. I know it is polite to reply to everyone, in fact, I really enjoy peoples responses, but sometimes there are just way too many. What do other people do when they start a hot discussion?

I used to reply to all the posts on my discussion but lately I have not been able to do that because there are just too many posts... What I do is, I answer posts that are not similar with each other. I just figured, if I answer everything, I have a bigger tendency to be redundant with my answers. =P But I make sure to rate the discussions... at least if I don't put a reply, I can rate them positively for going through the hassle of posting something on my discussion. =)

i try to, but I am so far behind on starting discussions, that I am trying harder to just get some responses to other people's discussions first. If I cant respond to other people's responses, I try to atleast go and respond to one of the discussions that person started. Atleast that way I'm still making some money and getting credit for responding, plus they are getting responses to their discussions.

Yeah sometimes that happens to me, I try to reply to most but sometimes there are way too many posts, although I do read through the responses and I always rate them and try to find the Best Response, I feel that far exceeds the need to respond back to someone's responses, they reap the rewards of the Best Response.

I understand what you mean, it is difficult when the responses run into several pages!! I read and rate every response I get on my discussions. I leave a comment only where necessary. You are new and so think you are obligated to thank everybody or leave a comment. It is actually ok not to comment on every response. You read them and rate them, that should do. Just this process takes a lot of time when you have many discussions running simultaneously. If users ask a question or leave a very good response, automatically I feel like leaving a comment and of course answer their question. It is better to leave a worthwhile comment than to just say "Thank you for your response!"

i think it's nice to reply to each, however, if there's a ton, as a responder, i think i'd understand that the asker couldn't respond to them all. that would be silly. especially, since many of them are probably reiterating what someone else previously stated. take care!

Not all responses but I will try to respond as much as I can. It is kind of irritating to respond all of my responses in my own discussion I hardly get time to do it now as I am working for many other websites too. I used to respond my each and response on my discussion a while back but now when I joined some other websites I don't really get time to do it. I am even thinking to have a break from myLot as I am so addicted to myLot I can't do it but I will still try to do it. But apart from this, I managed to reply those responses I find good and polite. These are the peoples I love, these are the peoples I obey. Have a very good day! Happy earnings.

yes, though it may seem unbelieveable to you but so far i had responded to all my discussions, and sometimes it too had costed me an hour or so and its really tiring, i have seen many mylotians responding to some of their discussions and omiting the rest, and i think those persons are going well and now it seems to me that there is not a huge point in responding and thanking everyone here.

I don't comment on every reply to my discussions, nor do I think people expect you to. I always make sure to rate the replies positively so long as they are on-topic and show some bit of effort, but I only comment in order to answer a question in the reply or if the person has brought up something worth discussing further. I don't think anyone is going to have their feelings hurt if you do not thank them individually for participating in your discussion; many of them probably won't check back anyway. But it is nice that you want to be so polite. :-)

I reply to each one with something. I want people to know I actually read them and not just posting for money. But on the other hand most of my discussions don't have to many responses. I have a friend who can't always be here and so they just slowly answers them while they are responding to other discussions

I've been on myLot for about 3 weeks, now. All my discussions I've started only got about 4 or 5 responses, till a few days ago, I started a discussion that has generated nearly 90 responses! I've been trying to respond to them but it's going to be a full time job. I so much appreciate all of them for sure. What I wonder is why the number next to my "avatar" hasn't increased. Don't our responses to responses count at all? My income only increased about .75 cents, too. Was it the same for you? Do your numbers increase? Or your income? Thanks for your post, it was very timely for me.

I don't think so. I have have been trying to work that out, but I don't believe our responses count for any money, but it would improve your general reliability, etc on My Lot. I really haven't worked out exactly how I am paid, except for replying to people who start discussions & starting a discussion yourself.

It would be impossible for me to respond to each indiv. I type w/ a mouthstick which takes even longer than hunt/peck typing-lol. What I do is respond to say, 3 at once. No one should be expected to sit writing replies for hours.

If the response is good and warrents a comment then yes, I will reply to it. But most generally I don't. I don't think that is could possibly done 100% for an active myLotter.

it's not necessary for us to comment on all the responses we get from people on our discussions. but true, it's overwhelming when they get to find the topics interesting even if they do disagree on some. i do comment on the responses i get but not to all. i response to those i feel like i wanna say something to about or when i want to react more or clarify something. the best we can do is atleast, go back to the discussions we started, read the responses, atleast take time to rate them, comment on some and that's it. there are those that really gets out of hand. too many responses. but it's always our responsibility to take time and read them all. that's the very reason why we started a discussion, right? so we can get responses. so, it's just fair to read them all.

I try to reply to as many as I can sometimes i don't do it all in one sitting. I will answer a few then go and do other things come back and do a few more. PPL don't expect you to answer everyone so do worry about it to much. Just make sure you rate each one that way you know you have read and took note of the responses.

I don't respond to every response in my discussions and I hope nobody expects me to. I don't expect anyone to respond to all their responses, but that's just me. It's not impolite or anything of the sort to NOT respond to everyone. It doesn't earn you any more money and is actually kind of pointless, in my opinion. In fact, it's actually against the myLot guidelines to respond to EVERY response you've gotten. Well, it's against to guidelines to post a "thank you" to every discussion. Hope that makes sense...

I try to but as you say it can get overwhelming I will usually leave it for a wahile and than come back to it. I like to at least rate there response though, some I may not leave a comment, It depends.... I've noticed there are allot out there that don't even respond to anyone's responses and it makes you wonder do they really care what we have to say???

I try to respond to all responses but sometimes it's a little too much .I know it's not really expected of us to answer all responses but I still feel bad if I am unable to.

look at all the responses already. yes, i try to, but only get the chance a couple of times a week to post and answer. but i save all my questions, keep a piece of paper in my purse as i think of them i write them down. which gave me another idea for a question.
