Do you use public transportation?

Picture taken on light rail - These are 2 of my daughters. The oldest took the picture from her cell phone while riding on light rail.

The only time I use public transportation is when I want to go downtown. When I go downtown we take the light rail system here. I hate to drive downtown with all the one way streets and finding parking and then having to pay to park, yuk. Much easier to take the light rail, less headache. My kids love it, the youngest thinks she's riding on a train. It is very easy to use and it runs evey 15 minutes, unlike the bus system that you need a degree half the time to understand all of the transferring that goes on. Was just wondering either way do you use public transportation why or why not?

use must live in DFW. I park at a train station and ride because I didn't want to get into traffic, especially when there is construction on the freeway.

I don't know where DFW is? I live outside of Sacramento, California. I hate construction, but I also hate the freeways especially when they are merging, no one knows how to merge into traffic nowadays! :)

No I have to admit the only time I use public transport is when I travel into the city, I live near London and I use the tube to travel into town, because parking is expensive hard to find and the traffic is too much to bear, we also have a congestion charge which is expensive too. Otherwise I travel everywhere by car! It's more reliable, and plus I live in the countryside where transport is not that good, so I drive to the nearest tube station (which is far too far to walk) and park and ride. Even on long distances I far prefer to use my own car because I can have the music on as loud as I want, stop whenever I want to to take a break and I don't have to put up with other travellers bugging me!

Your last lines say it perfectly. I can listen to my music as loud as I want and any type and not have to worry about annoying any one else. Along with stopping and getting to where I need to go at my convenience. :)

No, I don't use public transportation. Mostly because I live in the middle of nowhere and we don't have it. If I called a cab, they'd have to drive 25 minutes to get to my house...lol Even in town, there isn't public transportation. If you want a cab, you have to call or there is a bus that you can call that will take you to certain stores. But these aren't things that run on a normal basis.

The town you live by must also be small not to have a public transportation. It must be very beautiful where you are. Our system just has so many different bus services for the little cities surrounding the bogger one that it can be difficult when your having to transfer. :(

Path Train System - NYC Public Transportation
When I live in the city in NJ, I used public transportation all the time. There were plenty of buses and the schedules were great. Love the subway system and the PATH train to NYC. Here in Florida, there are very few bus routes and normally there is only one bus every hour. It's pretty annoying because sometimes my kids miss the school bus and they can't jump on the public bus because than they would be super late to school.

I haven't been that far up the east coast but would love to go to New York and cruise around town using the subway. :) We have lots of bus routes they just are confusing and each little city seems to have it's own so you have to have schedules for all of them. You need a GPS for buses just to figure it out, LOL.

We don't have alot of public transportation here. We have a City bus that is very limited to the main part of town. We have no rail system and mostly we drive cars everywhere! Arizona is so spread out you kinda have to drive! Its not like some big cities where you can liva all your life and never have to drive anywhere!

Usually when I go into the city. Public transportation is rather slow, and sometimes I just don't have the time to spare.

I only use public transportation when I go into Boston. I can take a commuter rail train into the city and then I use the subway to get around Boston. I live in the suburbs.. about an hour from Boston. I never use public transportation in my town.

I live in the suburbs also and drive to the light rail. Buses I just can't get the hang of. To much transferring around.
