Tai Chi and Capoeira are both great suggestions. Capoeira is especially good if you are working on endurance since it involves continuous movements like dancing. Tae Kwon Do is also a pretty good martial art if you are looking for excersize more than combat.

ei!! nice to hear ur into martial arts...hmm personally, id recommend capoeira. i havent tried it yet but i really wanted to.. i was into aikido and mixed martial arts once but i would really love to try capoeira...and kungfu!! yeah...capoeira is kinda cool..it's like u're dancing...and kungfu, well, the oldest martial arts..i guess... aikido is nice too. mainly using ur enemies' strength to counter them...and u get to use ur hands only...seen some steven seagal movies?? that's aikido! and i love mixed martial too...the grappling and the choking ... hmmm hehehe so take ur pick!!! and Good luck! tell me bout it aight?!

I have never tried this, but Tai Chi is supposed to be very good. I've read several magazine articles about it and seen excerpts on TV from people who practice it. I too get tired very easily and this looks like something even I could do. Good luck!

I think Tai chi is the best martial for u because its typically practised for variety of reason: its soft martial techniques, demonstration competions, healthand lonevity. Consequently, there exits a multitude of training forms, both traditional and modern.

Hi there! I'm doing AIKIDO. It's unique coz u don't need to use too much strength. All u need to do is take the force of your opponent and use it against him. Anyway, I have a classmate in Aikido who did karate for 10 years. He said that as he got old, karate worn him out while Aikido was strong, powerful yet graceful. I suggest you do Aikido instead. that's all

It depends what you want from the art? Most of them will keep you fit, but often you spend a lot more time exercising to be able to do them. Judo is very into fitness, or Muay Thai.

i am learning xanda/sanda (SanShou) and can recommend it to you too :) it is also a compete martial art that teaches striking, kicking, leg kicks, kick catches, sweeps, takedowns and throws. The current sport of San Shou does not include elbow and knee strikes, but but most San Shou gyms teach these techniques as well!

There can be a lot of recommendations for you. If you really want to improve your conditioning, go for either Boxing or Mixed Martial Arts. If you want to gain flexibility and agility, learn Taekwondo or Capoeira. If you want something powerful, try Muay Thai or Karate. If you really are into self-defense, try Krav Maga or Jeet Kune Do. My personal recommendations are Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Muay Thai, and Sanda. Choose any of them because they are all good martial arts. You just have to pick the best one for your body type and motivation.

The only one I've done is Krav Maga, which is Israeli so it's not like the eastern ones, from the start you will learn how to defend and attack quickly, efficiently and effectively. It will also get you fit but you don't need to be fit to start doing it as everyone trains at their own level. Here is the link to the official website if you're interested. www.krav-maga.com
