ash wednesday

Today is the start of Lent. A time to remember and embrace the PASSION of CHRIST. Let's hear mass and offer some sacrifices. In your place, what's your Ash Wednesday observation?

We don't really observe or do anything special for Ash Wednesday, but I'm happy that Easter is near!

"Coming near" I meant. It's still a little ways off, but Ash Wednesday brings it nearer in my mind.

hehe =) 40 days more and Easter. So how do you celebrate Easter? We celebrate with a High Mass on the eve and lots of noise and worship music. Then on Easter morning there'll be a procession, and all the parties after. Including Easter egg hunt.

I'm United Methodist and we had church on Ash Wednesday. The preacher had previously burned the dried palms from the previous year's Palm Sunday. He then mixes them with a little oil and then gives each of us a cross on our foreheads from the Ashes.
