Would You Respond To A Discussion With a Best Reponses Already Picked??

If you saw a new discussion or even an older one, and wanted to respond. Would you still do so if you saw the "best response" had already been picked? I have had older discussions and decided to pick a best out of the like 8 and then someone else still reponds. I feel bad that I did it but I waited a few days before doing so. I have gotten at least 4 best reponses, which is nice. I am NOT going for best response in anything I do. But I am just wondering if some of you make that your goal? Best response or no response at all? Just curious :)

Whether or not you get the best response doesn't keep you from earning for responding...so yes I always still respond and actually never look at the best response picked

If I like the discussion it doesn't matter to me if there is a best response. I still respond because I feel my opinion is also important. So making that my goal is the furthest thing from my mind.

It doesn't bother me if the discussion has choose the best response or not, still I will response to the discussion and give my ideas. For me all the matter is to share my points and view.

I will always reply to a topic that intersts me whether a best response is already picked or not. I do understand how you feel. Sometimes I feel that way too when after I pick a best response from my discussions that are atleast a week old somebody will post a really wonderful comment.

It depends how I'm feeling and if it's a long response I'd need to put in. If it's only a short post I would still do it, but if it's a topic I think I would post a long lengthy thing I usually don't because it's not worth it without the chance of best response.

If the discussion is about a subject that interests me or that I want to add my input, i certainly will. It's not always about getting the best response although it is nice when it happens:)

I do respond to discussions even if the best response is marked provided I have something of substance to share. It does put me off a little when the best response is marked within the first 24 hours of starting the discussion. I feel everybody wasn't given a fair chance. But most of the time I don't respond just to get marked with a best response, many a time when I thought mine was the best somebody else got it..lol

I don't worry too much about whether a best response has been picked or not. I've never noticed that we get paid more for best responses - so while I love them and check on my best reponses page at least two or three times a day because I'm excited to see if anyone has honored me with one, I'm also not actively going for one when i write a reply. It's getting difficult enough for me to find things to reply to after having written over 3,500 replies on the site in the last month and three quarters, so I'm just happy to find something that strikes my interest sometimes, lol! It really doesn't matter to me if someone else has already been chosen as the best reply. I can wait, I don't have to get even one per day, lol! I just love getting them when I do. ^_^

I respond based on whether or not i feel like i have something valid to add to the discussion regardless of whether or not a best response has been selected, getting them is nice, but its not something i am actively seeking

While I enjoy getting best response, it doesn't stop me from responding if it has already been picked. Most of the time I don't even pay attention to the fact that it has been picked. If I can post a response that adds to the discussion then I do so, regardless. What stops me from responding to a discussion is when it has alot of responses that all say the same thing that I was going to say. If I can't word it different or thinkd of something else then I leave with out leaving a response and just rate the discussion.

Thank you for the honor of the best response. I'm glad that you found my response to be useful! :)

This is probably the 10th time I've seen this discussion. Every time I say the same thing - yes. Because I respond to a discussion because I have either useful information, or a comment on perhaps either other people's responses, or even the author's. It's not my goal to get "high rep" and everything else in between. My goal is to add to the community.

A week or so ago I asked about what it was cause I noticed I had gotten 2. I have 4 now total. Its when you respond to the discussion, and the person who began the discussion decides who had the best response to what they were asking about. Someone told me its when they also feel that response best ends the discussion. I'd just answer best you can and then you will maybe get a best response eventually!

Well like I said... I dont go into the discussions thinking I gotta get a best response. HOWEVER I do go in and decide to answer best I can. Sometimes its with more feelings, cause I am more honest. Those have gotten sometime best responses. I am shocked at others when I didnt get it but I guess someone else did it better. Its how it goes :))

Most of the time it was the discussions itself that will attract my attention to make my responses but not the "Best respond" that bothering me. In short I will still responses to the discussions even though the "Best Respond" mark had been donates provided the discussions were the interesting one:)

It doesn't matter to me if the best response has been chosen or not. That isn't why I respond to discussions. I just pick ones I feel are interesting or that I might have something to say. I don't figure I'll get picked as the best response anyway, so that way...no pressure! LOL

Yes, i still respond even if the "best response" has already been chosen. Especially if the topic is good and i feel that i can contribute to the discussion. It's not really my goal to get "best response" everytime i answer a discussion. I just give my input to the best of my knowledge. This way, i don't set myself up for disappointment if i don't get picked as "best response."

The answer is YES. Although it would be nice to be picked up as Best response, I would not let the fact that best response had already been picked deter me from replying to threads that really interest me. Sometimes a really good discussion is hard to come by so I take any opportunity i can to partipate :)

Of course I'd still respond even if the best response had been picked already. I would still want to put my mark in that discussion and also to give my humble opinion. Who cares if they'd pick the best response already??? I don't mind in the least. No, you don't have to feel bad that you've picked the best one and then someone else comes in. It's not your fault. I mean, you don't even know that this person is going to come in, right? Haha!

I never expect somebody to rate my reponses. If the topic grabs my attention i simply head for it to share my views, ignoring who's been picked best response by the author of the topic. But i'd never realised that one of my friend who i'd often responded to his posts had had me picked my responses as the best ones many a times.I was gratified and kind of tickled when i came to know about this. But those were like the best compliments from mylot lots.
