As some of you may know, my car was stolen on January 14, 2007. Today I received a subpoena to go to court and be a witness. My husband has to go also. I am scared of facing this person in court who stole my car and broke into my house. It took me a good week to feel calm enough to sleep again after he broke in. This is going to upset everything again. Has anyone been to court to testify before? What is it like? Please tell me. I will be a basket case by next Thursday.

Don't feel nervous or afraid linda! Remember you are the victim and he is the suspect I know what's on your mind I can read it that you are afraid that someone from that criminal friend was there and recognize and get back to you and your family. Don't be be brave and don't show weakness for it will only weaken the case be firm and be detailed to your words.
Just feel free to tell you're lawyer anything you feel and your fears so that you can ask for security protection just in case.
I was been on trial to observe criminal case are worst cases I observe I'm on my 2nd year Law proper and if ever I was there I will surely in your back to help you be very very brave and firm there is nothing to be afraid of because Justice should be serve to those who deserve it.
Be firm and brave my friend.

Try not to focus on fear. You need to do this. This person needs to be responsable for his bad deed and get punished. Do not fear him. God will watch over you. Trust Him.

I have been two court dozens of times. Just stay clam cool and collective. At least you will be with your husband and not alone. Your better half will be there to show you moral and emotional support as well. Hopefully, the judge will put this idiot away for a very long time.

Well I guess you will have been by now so no use me giving you any advise on this but my Advise would have been keep calm and just remember that you are the Victim not the Criminal. I hope it went well for you and that you got through it ok.

You poor thing. Its the fear of the unknown that is worrying you more. Why not explain to you lawyer how you are feeling, maybe they can reassure you before the day.
This person is a thief who was caught, this doesn't mean he is going to come back afterwards if he gets off.
What you are doing in for the best and you will feel differently when it is all finished.
My thoughts are with you!!

Don't worry. I'm sure the break-in was very traumatic, but all you have to do in court is to tell the truth. You may feel much better after court, because all that worry will be lifted from your shoulders. I hope the theif is convicted and sent to jail so you don't have to worry about him any more.

Be strong and fight for your right. If he's really guilty the jury & judge will not let him go.

Don't be scared you didn't do anything wrong. I think we see so many courtrooms on tv that we visualize that. It's not like that. You'll be in and out before you know it so stop worrying.
