I originally had a doctors appointment two weeks ago. But, due to the doctors emergency it was rescheduled for yesterday (also my birthday!). It was the first time I went the the Circle of Life clinic. It was so nice! With my first two sons I lived in florida and the clinic was a typical hospital. Not this place! This was awesome. Some construction was going on but the facility was cool. My doctor was awesome as well. I got many surprises yesterday. First, I will be getting ultrasounds at every visit! Woo hoo! I didn't get that many at the other place. I will also be getting a 3d ultrasound. I heard those are pretty good! Also, there will be a lot more testing, which didn't happen with the other two pregnancies. Also here, they record all the ultrasounds and heart beats on a dvd that you can take home with you. You just have to bring it with you to your next appointment! I can't believe this! Here was the big kicker. I was first told that my due date would be Sept 15. The doctor said that was wrong. That I will be due on Sept 10 and that I'm 11 weeks. Yeah! Also, when we did the sonogram, the baby moved it's hand like it was waving! I was so happy! I actually feel pregnant now. Yes, I had nausaus and all that but, until I saw the sonogram, I didn't feel it!

COngrats on your pregnancy. How exciting that you get to have an ultrasound at every visit I would love it. And yes I agree the pregnancy just doesnt seem real until you seem that first ultrasound with the heart just beating away!

An ultrasound at ever appointment? That sounds like major overkill to me unless there is a medical reason for it. There hasn't been enough research to show if repetative exposure to the ultrasound waves can be harmful to the baby. Same with the 3d and 4d ultrasounds. It is pretty cool that you can have a recording of the heartbeat though!

We just like the pics that we get and so does the rest of the family. We don't have to pay for it, so it should be fine.

Just because you're getting it for free does not mean it will be fine. Do you really want to take a chance of harming your unborn baby, just to get a ton of ultrasound pictures?!?

Excuse me? I think if my DOCTOR thinks it is fine then I will listen to her. It is her job. I didn't ask for monthly pics but if she says it's okay then I will go with that. Geez!
